A toddler unexpectedly hugged a pizza delivery man without knowing that he had just lost his daughter a few days ago.
Toddler’s sweet hug
On February 15, the 2-year-old Cohen made a huge impact on the pizza delivery man, Ryan Catterson. When Ryan was about to get back to his vehicle, Cohen came running after him to give him a hug. What the toddler did was so unexpected.
The touching moment was caught on the family’s doorbell camera. Lindsay Sheely, Cohen’s mother, thought that it was “sweet and funny” so she posted it on her Instagram account.
“Saturday night, when we got our pizza (and ranch) delivered,” Lindsay wrote on her Instagram post. “Cohen ran out to hug the delivery guy and tried to give him a kiss, too!”

The video somehow reached Ryan, the man who delivered the pizza. Upon seeing the video, Ryan reached out to Lindsay to tell her how Cohen’s hug meant so much to him.
“After losing my daughter this past week, it just touched me because it was like she was there. It just meant a ton to me,” Ryan said in an interview.
God’s blessing
Cohen’s family later found out that Ryan just lost his daughter unexpectedly one week ago. Cohen’s hug was one way of God of comforting Ryan.
“We found out that Ryan unexpectedly lost his daughter recently, and that hug from Cohen was a little blessing from God. I believe in divine appointments and know that Ryan was the one to deliver our pizza for a reason,” she added.
Ryan’s ex-wife Danielle McCord says that Cohen taught everyone a lesson without even realizing it.
“It’s so easy to miss people and their internal pain,” Danielle McCord said. “Even with our daughter, we didn’t know her pain. I can’t help but be grateful that someone saw his pain and could be there for him.”
