What Does the Bible Say?

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.” Psalm 69:30

In a world often clouded by trials and challenges, we have an extraordinary gift—thanksgiving. The act of lifting your voice in song and prayer and glorifying God with thanksgiving has the power to transform your perspective, renew your hope, and draw you closer to the heart of your Heavenly Father.

Psalm 69:30 beautifully declares, “I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.” It is a reminder of the vital role praise plays in your spiritual journey. When you intentionally choose to lift your voices and express gratitude to God, something miraculous happens—your focus shifts from your circumstances to the greatness of your Creator.

Scripture abounds with references to the power of praise and thanksgiving. In Psalm 100:4, you are encouraged to “enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.” Through praise, you enter into the very presence of God, ushering in His peace, joy, and transformative power. Psalm 22:3, says that God inhabits the praises of His people, creating an atmosphere where His glory and goodness can be tangibly experienced.

Praising God in the midst of trials may seem counterintuitive, but it is in these very moments that your praise takes on a greater significance. In Acts 16:25, we witness the extraordinary example of Paul and Silas, who, while imprisoned, chose to sing hymns and praise God. Their praise unleashed supernatural power, resulting in their liberation and the salvation of the jailer and his household. When you praise God amidst your challenges, you invite His presence to intervene, turning your trials into opportunities for miracles and breakthroughs.

As a believer, embrace the transformative power of praise and thanksgiving. Regardless of your circumstances, you have the privilege to lift your voice and glorify God through song and thanksgiving. Let your heart be filled with hope, knowing that as you praise Him, God moves, miracles unfold, and His glory shines forth. So, proclaim with confidence, “I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving!”

Josh Morgan Shares 3 Keys For Dealing With Anger Without Sinning

In a recent Instagram video, Josh Morgan shared three things you can do to be angry without sinning against God.

Josh Morgan On Being Angry

In his caption, Josh Morgan wrote, “The Psalms are super helpful when it comes to dealing with our emotions in healthy, God-honoring ways. As the Psalmists lay their often angry and overwhelmed hearts bare before God, we start to see a pattern.”

This scripture inspired him to make a video about the issue.

He started by sharing from Psalm 56, “O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long. I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me… They are always twisting what I say; they spend their days plotting to harm me. They come together to spy on me—watching my every step, eager to kill me” (vv. 56:1–2, 5–6).

Tell God What Happened

The first piece of advice he gave was to tell God what happened.

Josh Morgan believes that venting to others could be considered gossip. “I know it’s easy and can kind of feel good. But it’s not good for us, and it really just compounds everything. The biblical precedent is to unload it all on God first. He can handle it.”

The second thing you can do when you’re angry, according to Josh, is to tell God how you feel.

“And when we don’t even really know what we’re feeling or why we’re feeling it, we can always ask for the Holy Spirit’s help to search our soul and help us understand what’s going on inside of us,” he said.
Josh then quoted Psalm 55:1–2, 4–5. “Listen, O God. Do not ignore my cry for help! I am overwhelmed by my troubles. My heart pounds in my chest. The terror of death assaults me. Fear and trembling overwhelm me, and I can’t stop shaking.”

Remember God And Praise Him

And lastly, and by far the most important thing to do even when you are not angry, is to remember God and praise Him.

“When we’re praising God, we’re not sinning against Him. So, when we tell God what happened, tell Him how we feel, and remember Him and His love and His promises, we can trust that He’ll keep our feet from slipping. So we can walk in His life-giving light,” Josh concluded.

“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?.. You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle, You have recorded each one in your book” (Ps 56:3–4).

Relentless Woman, Choose To Praise God Even In The Storm

Life in this world is not always roses. There are no exceptions to experiencing pain or struggle, even as Christians we experience these things. But we always have an opportunity to praise God, even in the storms of life.

Worshiping In Spirit And In Truth

Praising and worshiping God is one of the most beautiful privileges God has given His children. After Jesus rose from the dead, He tore the veil that separated us from God. Thus, His resurrection provided complete access to His Presence.

In John 4:24, Jesus told the Samaritan, “But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.”

Our generation today is the fulfillment of Jesus’ words thousands of years ago. Our experiences in His Presence in worship are proof of that. It’s wonderful and beautiful to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. But what about when our circumstance is challenging? Do we still praise God?

Praise God Even In The Storm

It’s easier to praise God when everything in your life is going well. But when things are out of our control and the storm in our life seems so strong, it can be difficult to raise our hands and praise Him. Be encouraged, Relentless Woman, to choose to praise God even in the storm.

Praise Him, not just in good times, but in bad times too. God never changes and while we are still here on earth, it’s the only time we’ll be able to offer God authentic worship in the midst of pain and suffering.

“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields & the cattle barns are empty. yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.” -Habakkuk 3:17-18

The Lord Of Peace Give You Peace, Always By All Means

“Now the Lord of peace himself gives you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16)Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, wants us to have peace always by all means because He is the Prince of peace, see Isaiah 9:6 and He is our peace, see (Ephesians 2:14). Hebrews 12:2 says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Isaiah 26:3 also says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Jesus = Peace

Those two verses literally say that Jesus and peace are inextricable, and it means when your focus is shifted from Jesus, His peace that transcends all understanding will be wanting in your life. Our righteousness in God only comes by faith in and by Jesus Christ (See Romans 3:22).

Psalms 85:10 says, “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” And Matthew 6:33 unequivocally states, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” These two verses mean as you seek the righteousness of God, you will equally have peace because Psalms 85:10 says righteousness and peace have kissed each other. It also means, whenever you lose your peace you have equally forsake the righteousness of God.

Surpasses All Understanding

Our Lord Jesus Christ said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” The world is full of tribulation and does not have peace not to talk of giving us peace, so the Prince of peace has given us His peace that surpasses all understanding so our hearts not to be trouble neither be afraid. The peace of Jesus is not from the world but from above, and remember, we are in the world but not of the world (see John 17:16).

He has already given us His peace, and His desire for us is to have His peace always by all means so our heart will not be trouble either be afraid.

Learn From Peter’s Example Of Peace

In Acts chapter 12, when king Herod took Peter in imprisoned him and guarded by two soldiers. Probably with their arms. But the Church did not stop praying for Peter. The same night King Herod was planning to do to Peter the same thing he did to James, Peter was sleeping while two soldiers guarded him even with him already bound with two chains (see Acts 12:1-6). Peter was able to sleep amid trouble. In fact, probably snoring just because he chose to focus on Jesus. And as such, he did not lose his peace because his mind stayed on Jesus. The question, who had peace between Peter sleeping in prison and the two soldiers awake guarding Peter all through the night?

Verses 7 to 11 of the same chapter gave details on how God delivered Peter out of prison. Instead of Peter being troubled and exalt his trouble, he focused on God. Because our God is greater than all troubles. And He has given us peace always by all means, Amen.

What Do You Do In Times Of Challenge?

A. Act afraid

B. Be troubled

C. Start Complaining

D. Act anxious

E. Hold your peace (pray and praise God)

As for me, I will do option E, just because of what Philippians 4:6-7 says. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” What about you, what is your choice?

Keeping It Simple In Complicated Times

Let’s start off by acknowledging one thing: these are complicated times that we are living in. Political turmoil, divisions, and factions, sickness, disease, and death. Now, to the good news: GOD HAS NOT CHANGED, and neither has His intentions for our lives. Now more than ever, the world needs to hear the simple Gospel; from you! Here are a few ways to get back to the simple truth, and finally stay rooted in the goodness of God…keeping it simple.

KEEPING IT SIMPLE: BACK IN THE WORD

Firstly, have you ever wondered what God’s plans were for you? The Bible, God’s written word, is like a treasure map to the very heart of God. Dive in and seek Him! There are so many Bible reading plans out there, choose one and go for it! Chew and digest the Gospel of Jesus Christ, let it fill to overflow! (Joshua 1:8)

INTIMACY WITH JESUS

This is one of the biggest areas that the enemy will attack. First of all, get alone with God! Bring Him your questions, your doubts, your fears. He is the only one who can fully empathize with you. Second of all, worship Him, seek His face! It’s His promise that when you seek Him, you will find Him! (Jeremiah 29:13)

ASK GOD FOR THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

“Didn’t I receive the Holy Spirit when I was saved?” Yes! The Holy Spirit begins to work in your life when you accept Christ. Therefore, He convicts you of sin, teaches us about righteousness, and dwells within you! (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:13 John 6:44) Additionally, there is a separate and distinct occurrence called “The Baptism of the Holy Spirit.” This is a gift from the Father, possible only through what Jesus did, to empower every believer to walk literally as Jesus did. (Matthew 3:11, Luke 11:13, Luke 24:49, Acts 2:33-38) Additionally, Jesus told the disciples to wait for this gift, and the Bible tells us when we ask for it, hence God is happy to give it to us! (John 3:34)

KEEPING IT SIMPLE: GIVE

In conclusion, it’s simple. Maybe God is calling you to leave everything behind, move to another Nation, and preach the Gospel to the unreached. Or, maybe, God is calling you to pick up the phone and share the love that you have received in Jesus with a lost friend. Perhaps God is calling you to be a witness in your family, or in your workplace. Whatever the case, God has called you to give away what you have received. How many of us have been healed, set free from bondage, had our lives radically transformed by the simple Gospel? Finally, by sharing what God has done for you, you get to be the hands and feet of Jesus on the earth today. “…Freely you have received; freely give” (from Matthew 8:8)

Praise Before Your Breakthrough

“I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.” Psalm 34:1

Life promises us not only mountain tops but also valleys low. I’ve been through a couple of low valleys myself and have learned a huge lesson that changed my perspective for any hard time that I’ve been through or will walk through. That secret is praise and thankfulness. Walking through times that feel hopeless and like there is no way I’ll see the other side have defined what praise really means in my life. Praise births breakthrough, therefore we praise before our breakthrough.

Looking Beyond Yourself

There is so much power in praise. It brings freedom in your life, your heart, and the way you see God. You take the focus off you and set your sights on Him. It is easy to only see what is right in front of you when you are walking through a hard time. When something is painful, it’s hard to think about anything other than the pain you’re experiencing at that moment. If I stub my toe on the coffee table, all I can think about is how much my toe hurts. Praise is looking outside of yourself and what you’re going through and proclaiming that God is good, even when you’re walking through something that doesn’t feel good; that He is faithful when everything around you feels shaken and turbulent; that He is the Healer even when it’s hard to see past the sickness or pain you feel.

Thanking God Before You See It

I went through a time in my life where I would have constant jaw pain that would bring terrible headaches. During that time I learned what it looked like to thank God for the healing He gave me even when I didn’t feel healed. I remember one specific time when I was driving in my car and my jaw was in so much pain. I just sat there and thanked God over and over. “Thank you, Abba, for healing my jaw.” I took my focus off the pain I was in and put it on the goodness of God. That was a life-changing moment where I saw the power of thankfulness firsthand. I’ve brought that lesson into so many other areas of my life. It was an important lesson in learning to not only ask the Lord for the things that I want to see in my life but to also thank Him for them before they even happen. We thank Him for healing because we know He is our healer. We thank Him for good things to come because we know He is a good Father.

Praise Is Your Weapon

I no longer suffer from jaw pain (thank you, Jesus!), but the most important thing was that I learned what praise and thankfulness looks like. I am grateful for all the times I walked through hard things in life because through them I learned how God is good and always faithful. We have the weapons of praise and thankfulness that we can hold onto through any trial. They anchors us in who God really is. When we’re anchored in who God is we can’t be shaken. I will cling to these two things for the rest of my life, because I know the power thankfulness wields and the freedom praise brings.

Abundant Life: Operating In The Normal Zone Or Miracle Zone?

We are all operating in a zone, the normal zone or the miracle zone. The way you live leaves your life with or without limits. Jesus came to give us abundant life. This life of abundance is how He lived when He walked the earth. He now resides in heaven having accomplished what He had to do on earth. We too can live that life because He purchased it for us on the Cross. We can choose to live like He did or operate in the limited life of a natural man. He came to give us eternal life.

This life has no beginning and no end. Living His life on earth is only possible in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was sent to help us to experience the abundant life He promised. This life cannot be bought. You receive abundant life through faith. You were born again when you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. The same way you are baptized in the Holy Spirit He fills you by faith. Now He is your life and He will lead you to all things new. The old has passed away. You are a new creation in Him. What a divine exchange this is.

Abundant Life: Miracles

Operating in the Holy Spirit is to operate in the miraculous. We can choose to walk according to the flesh or the Spirit. In the Spirit, a whole new realm of reality is open. And it is open to us. Jesus walked as He saw and heard what His Father was doing. We too can operate by seeing and hearing in the Spirit. This is an elevated life. No more operating in human terms but in the Spirit. Which life would you choose? God is calling us to operate in the Spirit for this is a life without burden or stress. The choice is ours. We can either live a life burdened with stress, worry, fear, anxiety, and sadness or we can live in freedom. He carries us. Choose this life today. You will choose a life of hope, freedom, joy, and endless possibilities. You will choose the abundant life.

Three Men Vindicated After Serving 36 Years For A Wrongful Murder Conviction

After 36 years of serving prison time, three men who were wrongfully convicted of murder were finally released on Monday. They immediately praised God for vindicating them after thirty-six very long years of seeking justice.

On November 18, 1983, Andrew Stewart, Alfred Chestnut and Ranson Watkins were imprisoned for the murder of Dewitt Duckett. They were 16 years old at the time and the victim was 14 years old. According to the report, the crime occurred at Harlem Park Junior High School. They were accused of the murder because they had skipped class and were seen at the crime scene earlier that day.

The Perseverance To Seek The Justice They Deserve

In May, Alfred tried to appeal their case and wrote to the office of Baltimore City prosecutor Marilyn Mosby. Through his letter, he revealed who was the real culprit along with a new evidence. The unit then investigated and were shocked of what they found out.

In an interview with The Washington Post, the head of the Conviction Integrity Unit, Lauren Lipscomb shared, “Two individuals called in saying Michael Willis was the shooter. You cannot make this up. It is just outrageous.”

Thus, the trail moved forward without this important information. Unfortunately, Michael Willis was dismissed as a suspect.

Not Enough Evidence To Accuse Alfred

Moreover, the only evidence against Alfred was a jacket. However, the jacket didn’t show signs of blood or gunshot residue. His mother was even able to prove that she bought it by showing a receipt. The store clerk even testified on his behalf, but unfortunately, the pleads weren’t enough.

Donald Kincaid, the lead detective, insisted that they did thorough investigation on the case despite the wrongful accusation.

“What would I get out of that?” he said. “You think for one minute I want to send three young boys to prison for the rest of their life … I didn’t know those boys. I didn’t know them from Adam. Why would I want to do something like that?”

The Three Men Declared Innocent After 36 Long Years

A review of the case and new evidence led Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Charles J. Peters to free the three men after 36 years. “On behalf of the criminal justice system, and I’m sure this means very little to you, I’m going to apologize.”

After receiving the news Alfred shared, “I feel like all these years I’ve been saying the same thing. Finally, somebody heard my cry. I give thanks to God and Marilyn Mosby. She’s been doing a lot of work for guys in my situation.”

Andrew’s reaction was, “I broke down crying. I cried like a baby.”

Crediting God For The Victory

In an interview with WBAL-TV Baltimore Andrew said, “I really don’t have the words to say, but I just thank God. It’s surreal.”

Andrew’s mother also praised God, “This is the first time I’ve been able to hug my son in about 20-some years. This is wonderful. God bless, God is good all the time, not sometimes, but all the time.”

After Alfred’s many years of perseverance to have their case reviewed, they finally received the justice they deserve.

“This is overwhelming. I always dreamed of this. My mom, this is what she’s been holding on to forever. To see her son come home,” says Alfred to the media.

According to The Washington Post, Andrew, had accepted “the significance of faith and the value of God” while serving time in prison. Andrew said, “If this is where God wants me to rest my head for the rest of my life, this is where I’m going to serve Jesus Christ for the rest of my life.”

Andrew chose to keep praising God. He is now experiencing justice and the vindication of God.
