The GOD TV family around the world has been writing in to express their shock at the horrific Easter Sunday bomb blasts in Sri Lanka and grief at the senseless loss of life. We have served the nation for 16 years from our office in Colombo and our hearts continue to go out to all who have lost loved ones.
Following the Sri Lanka bomb blasts at churches and hotels we joined many others in condemning the attacks and have been asking our readers and viewers to pray for the island nation concerning this national tragedy. Now our CEO, Ward Simpson has again asked viewers to intercede for Sri Lanka and support all affected, while Regional Director, David Nicolle is helping on the ground. He has previously been recognized by the UN for his humanitarian work and continues to strive to make Sri Lanka a better place.
“Despite persecution, we continue to share a message of hope throughout Sri Lanka extending a hand of friendship to people of all faiths through our humanitarian outreach,” David Nicolle says.

Miraculous Rescue
GOD TV has many viewers in Sri Lanka. We can be watched across the island on Dialog Satellite TV as well as via the Apstar Satellite. And many of our partners have been calling in for prayer. We also received a report of a life that was supernaturally saved.
A partner called to say that his daughter was staying in one of the hotels that were bombed. She felt a prompting not to go down for breakfast and fortunately her life was spared. She was on the 13th floor, heard the explosion and was able to exit the hotel safely.
We thank God for this testimony and we know there are many more stories of how God intervened to help limit the disaster. Sadly there will be those who blame God for the terror attacks. Read Tragedy In Sri Lanka: God Did Not Forsake His People to find our how we can respond to such accusations.
Pray for Sri Lanka
Our CEO Ward Simpson explained how viewers can pray effectively at this time: “Please continue to lift up Sri Lanka before the Lord. Pray that those who have lost loved ones are comforted by the Holy Spirit. Intercede for the Church and the persecuted believers to remain strong and be a powerful witness. Let’s trust God that the authorities are able to quickly restore stability. Finally, pray the Gospel will continue to impact the lives of many Sri Lankans via GOD TV.”

Support Sri Lanka
Having learned from the Tsunami disaster, the main thrust of GOD TV’s response to the bombings is to work alongside other NGOs to provide professional counseling over an extended period of time.
We will also be assisting the Zion church on the east coast specifically as this is where 25 toddlers were massacred. Zion is an independent Evangelical church that supports Israel and has brought many people to faith in Jesus.
