Are you believing for someone to return to the Lord? I want to encourage you: praying for the prodigal in your life is so important, don’t give up. Stay firm; continually believe that God’s kindness will lead to them repentance. Like the Parable of the Prodigal Son, the graciousness of a kind Father embraces His children when they return to Him.
“For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.” (Luke 15:24)
The Parable of the Prodigal Son teaches us that the foundation and stability of the Father brings His children home, even as willing servants. Thankfully, God has not made us servants, but family.
Trust that the Father’s Goodness Will Not Run Out
Many of us were the prodigal son at one point. Arrogant, prideful, and unaware of our deep need for God, we ventured off on our own, unprepared for the journey ahead. Only focused on ourselves, we lived a life of waste, whether it was of money, time, or relationships. The intention of our lives were not set on the one person we were meant to walk in a relationship with. But because we are created to walk in a relationship with the Father, He drew us back to Himself. This is the same reality for the person in your life you are believing to return to the Lord.
Knowing the Prodigal Gives You the Opportunity to Surrender
Remember what The Lord has brought you out of. Surrender any desire to control of the circumstance, even surrender the timing you anticipate. Watch as God surprises you with His faithfulness to bring His children home. The love of the Father draws His children to Him. As you pray, it is your job to joyfully surrender, knowing God’s ways are higher than your own.
