A seminarian studying to become an eastern catholic priest encounters the Lord and receives healing.

Joel Tenney grew up in a family of 17 who attends an eastern catholic church. During her younger years, he serves as an altar boy in a Latin church in Iowa. Because of his speech impediment, he has always been bullied regularly by the kids in his school. When he was 13, he cried out to God in desperation after getting beaten up in a park near his house.

“God, I cannot do this anymore,” Joel said to God. “I need you, please if you heal me of this speech impediment, I will dedicate my life to you and dedicate my mouth to declaring Your truth.”

It was then that Joel encountered the Holy Spirit in a very powerful way. Right after saying that prayer, His presence fell upon Him.

“God came through, the only way I could describe it was like a wave of His presence came over me. I could feel a movement taking place in my mouth. So, I opened my mouth and began to say this prayer, a prayer that was all too familiar to my family, it’s one often spoken in the eastern catholic churches, it’s called the Jesus prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner.”

Encounter with God

It was at that moment that God physically touched him and healed him of his speech impediment. Joel knew that the Lord has a plan for his life. As his response to God, he became a seminarian to become an eastern catholic priest. A few years into his study, he felt a conviction from the Lord saying that his calling was not into the priesthood.

“That day, I committed myself to Jesus Christ. There was no evangelist, there was no altar call, it was simply the word of God which is sharper than a double-edged sword, sharp enough to cut through bone and marrow, it cut straight to my heart… The Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and convicted me that I needed the Lord over my life and that Lord is Jesus.”

Today, he is now a father of four, a Bible teacher, an evangelist, and serves many nations as a missionary. Joel left his past life and became a follower of Jesus Christ.

Priest Saved From Accident When SUV Flew Over His Car; “It’s A Miracle”

A Catholic priest was on his way to a Sunday mass when a speeding SUV was about to hit his car. But, in what was called a “miracle,” the SUV flew over him, narrowly missing the priest.

Father John Bok did not notice the SUV on his left side. He told Catholic News Agency he was going to Mass at St. Andrew Parish Church in Milford.

On the opposite side of the road, a 17-year-old boy had a seizure while driving a black SUV. He lost control of the wheel and went off the road towards Father John’s vehicle. But a pole was in the way and instead of hitting the priest’s car, it launched the SUV into the air, flying over the 87-years-old priest’s Hyundai Sonata.

A Miracle

“It was a miracle,” Father John told CBN News. “I did not know that that car went over top of me.”

He confessed on The Franciscan Friars website that he had a lazy left eye, causing limited vision. “I thought maybe it was a large bird or something and continued on my way to have the Mass.”

Later on that day, a police officer showed him the CCTV footage of the miraculous escape. But, the recording bewildered Father John, a former Physics teacher.

He said, “According to Google it is 4.83 feet tall. Why was the pole standing in that exact spot attached to nothing? By what laws of physics did it lift the boy’s car almost 5 feet in the air and send it over my car? So many questions. I am certainly thankful to God.”

He continued, “I will continue to wonder how much God and how much the laws of science played in the experience. And I continue to be amused by the fact that I was oblivious to what happened until I saw the video in the restaurant. As always, God is good.”

The incident took place on October 2, when Catholics celebrate the “Feast of the Guardian Angels.”

I Am A King And A Priest In The Kingdom Of God

God says that I am a King and a Priest in His Kingdom. Yet how many of us think and live like this? Most of us think that it is humble to be poor. However God is rich and generous. How come we have decided that we should think like man and not like God. Prosperity is seen as a bad word because it makes us proud. This is the way the world thinks. God said we should enjoy an abundant life in Him on earth as it is in heaven. Our poverty mentality has made us twist the word of God to think like man. This is why we see so much lack and disorder amongst us. Could this be true?

Wrong Teaching

Wrong teaching can result in wrong outcomes. This is what sin does. Jacob was prepared to sell his birth right for a morsel of food. How pathetic to think that and then suffer for it. Many suffer in this life due to wrong teaching. God wants us to prosper and be in health as our soul prospers. When we interpret His word according to our own thoughts we belittle it to our standard. We select words that fit our theology rather than what God says. How much we have to unlearn what we have been taught. When our minds are transformed we can see clearly where we have gone wrong.

Kingdom Mindset

Today let us return to a Kingdom mindset where poverty is a curse and not a blessing. We need to behave like Kings on earth. Isn’t this more attractive and bring glory to God when His children rule and reign on earth? Instead we are satisfied in living in second class accommodation. We should be living a five star life knowing our Father is rich and loves to bless us. Our flesh will be against this because it is fallen in its thinking. I wonder how many will agree with me? Maybe most will condemn me for my lavish lifestyle. Well if you rather live in poverty, so be it. I will live like as a King because I believe He wants me to.

Understanding who is the Generation Z and how can they impact the Kingdom of the Lord.

Generation Z

Dr. Billy Wilson, president of Oral Roberts University, explains to us who are Generation Z. He also shared God’s calling for this generation. Sociologists have identified several generations. There is the Greatest Generation, the Baby Boomers, the Generation X, the Millennial generation, and the latest generation which is Generation Z.

Each generation has been influenced by different factors that have shaped each generation’s general point of view. Generation Z has been widely influenced by social media, the internet, and the latest issues we have encountered.

“This is the generation that has lived during the time of the 9-11 terrorist attack and in a world that is filled with terrorism, school shooting, church shootings, surrounding them in their everyday life. This is the generation that went through the economic downturn of 2007 and 2008. The generation that has lived when the iPhone was created. And the generation that has come into a place of globalization or global focus and a generation that has been immersed in technology. They are called digital natives,” Dr. Billy explained.

God’s Calling

This generation is technologically advanced, globally connected, has the passion to change the world, and is individualistic. Those characteristics of the people in this generation can be used by God to advance His Kingdom.

“God is a God of generations and is interested in this generation called Generation Z,” he emphasized.

Generation Z wants truth, clarity, purpose, authenticity, practical Christianity, long for purity and God’s presence. God is calling this generation to represent Him before the other people.

“God is calling, I believe, for a new generation of spiritual priests who reclaim the priesthood of the believer. Representing man before God and God before man. A generation that will intercede, that will go between and that will worship God in a passionate, pure and personal way.”

A Priest Commits His Life To Help LA’s Gang Members Find Their Way Forward

Father Gregory Boyle has spent the last 32 years reaching out and welcoming gang members who hope to have a second chance in life. He commits to helping them stand and move forward.

Back in 1988, Boyle, or as he is known by the gang members, Father Greg founded Homeboy Industries. It started with a mission to support former gang members with their decision to improve their lives. But today, Homeboy Industries has become the largest gang intervention, rehab, and re-entry program in the world.

Father Greg’s passion for the gang members began in 1986 when he became pastor of the Dolores Mission Church. It happened to be the poorest parish church in East Los Angeles. Moreover, they had the highest gang activity in their area. When residents and officials saw them as criminals and troublemakers, Father Greg saw them as loved and carrying great potential.

“We work with the population that nobody desires to work with, and it’s a principle of this place that we stand with them,” Father Greg shared on their website.

He added, “Love never fails. It will always find a way to have its way.”

LA’s gang members

The organization offers a variety of skills and education programs that empower members to become a contributing member of society. They also offer services like therapy, tattoo removals, and employment.

Delia Ross, part of Homeboy Industries shared, “Since coming to Homeboy Industries, I’ve graduated Residential Drug Treatment.” She continued, “[I] obtained housing, become financially independent to support my kids, got a job, and just recently got a car and my driver’s license.”

“I’ve never had this many amazing things happen to me, and it’s all come by letting go and letting God take the wheel. Homeboy Industries has become my place of clarity and safety.”

This year, Conrad Hilton Humanitarian Prize selected Homeboy Industries as the recipient of a $2.5 million honorarium. The group awards it to those that “have made extraordinary contributions toward alleviating human suffering.” Father Greg expressed his gratitude in a post. “With this funding, we will have the ability to expand our programs and develop new ones. Thank you and let’s continue changing the world.”

When God Speaks, Do What He Says: The Birthing of the Samuel Generation

The Birthing of the Samuel Generation

Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord (1 Samuel 2:12). After years of corruption, the next generation of Eli refused to function and operate in their priestly call. They abused their calling and priestly role. Eli, both failed to set his house in order and grossly mismanaged the Priestly affairs and the oversight of God’s House. Under Eli’s leadership, he willfully misassigned honor and shifted the glory (recognition of honor and esteem) of the house from God to his sons. The head, Eli, neglected to correct his house and refused to operate in his God Given function as Priest. He honored his sons over God. So God sent Samuel.

And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child. (1 Samuel 3:8)

God called Samuel and Eli perceived. Samuel heard God’s Voice and Eli recognized. When God Calls you, others can perceive (discern and recognize) God’s Calling on your life, but it’s up to you to answer and to know God’s Voice for yourself. Others can train you and acknowledge that God has Called you, but it’s up to you to embrace, accept and live out what God has Declared. “And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.”

“And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.” (1 Samuel 3:10) It’s your time to answer. God Wants To Speak. Are you listening? Submit To His Instruction.

When God Speaks. Execute. Do what He says.

“And he said, What is the thing that the Lord hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also if thou hide anything from me of all the things that he said unto thee.” (1 Samuel 3:17)

In this moment, Eli released Samuel to speak what God had revealed to him. God will teach you what to say and when to deliver The Word that He has given to you. Release what God has put in your mouth. “And Samuel told him every whit and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the Lord: let him do what seemeth him good.” (1 Samuel 3:18)

As you grow…

And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and did let none of his words fall to the ground. (1 Samuel 3:19)

Development and maturity come with submission, revelation, relationship, insight and execution. As you submit your heart to God, the closer you’ll draw to Him, the more He’ll reveal to you and the more He’ll do through you. Because of your faithfulness and submission to His Voice, and execution of His Command, He will establish you and raise you up as His Own. Set apart for His use.

And all Israel from Dan even to Beer–sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord. (1 Samuel 3:20)
