God is both a man to know (in Jesus) and a mystery to behold. In the quiet, we get to experience the depths and heights of his love and ultimately, Him.
We make space for God in the quieting of our minds. When we quiet the noise our hearts can experience His nearness.
God’s Healing Presence
We get to encounter God’s nature in the quiet, not because it comes any closer than it is when our hearts aren’t still, but because we have a greater propensity to uncover and be uncovered by Him. Do you have a moment in your life that you go back to with the Lord? Maybe it was the first time you ever felt his presence overcome you. Or maybe it was a time that you needed Him desperately and He met with you. These are moments where the abiding nearness of Father God marks our lives; they develop our longing for more of Him as we begin to see more of who He is.
In the Quiet
Meeting with God is the safest place you could ever be. It is where His voice becomes the loudest and our thoughts bow to his supremacy. This space becomes a place where He pours out revelation through His word, a place where we receive healing, and a place where we get vision for the impossible in our lives. In the quiet is when we grow to know God, for it is here we are the most set upon Him.
I challenge you this week to set aside time to sit in the silence with the Father, intentionally setting your heart on who He is and what He has done for you. Remembering His goodness sets our hearts in awe and affection toward our good Father!
