Paramount Pictures To Make A Movie Based On Cory Asbury’s Song, “Reckless Love”

Worship singer and songwriter, Cory Asbury, announced on his social media page that Paramount Pictures will make a film based on his powerful song, “Reckless Love.”

Cory released “Reckless Love” in 2017 and since then, it has touched people with a fresh revelation of God’s love. And today, the critically acclaimed worship song will take it up another level as it will be portrayed on the big screen.

DeVon Franklin, the producer behind successful films “Heaven is for Real” and “Miracles from Heaven”, partnered with Paramount Pictures to produce the movie.

According to Franklin, the movie will follow the love story of Cory and his wife, Anna.

Cory revealed in his Facebook post that he was initially hesitant with Franklin’s offer. He shared, “If you know me, you know how highly I value authenticity & realness. So, taking advantage of the success of a song God had freely given me felt a bit exploitative. I didn’t want to ‘milk it’ for all it was worth.”

The fragility of his relationship with his father, which is part of the movie, also hindered Cory from accepting the proposal.

“Cory, what if this film is bigger than you & your story?” Franklin asked Cory. “What if it brings healing to your dad & dads all across the world?”

This struck home for Cory. So, he went to ask for permission from his father the next day. They wept together and took the first step toward healing in their relationship.

“I kept praying for a mouthpiece, a platform, some way to blast the message He was writing in me to the world,” Cory said. “I was hoping for a song or a sermon, but He saw something much bigger.”

“The film was the vehicle God wanted to use to get the message of His love to the world.”

Cory further noted that the movie is about surrender, letting go, and falling into the reckless love of God. He said, “It follows the story of a broken young man who finds God & family at the cost of well… everything. And my wife is the hero, not me.”

Kris-Lynn Williams was born into a Christian family with her father being a pastor. She attended church religiously a couple of days a week and attended kid retreats and youth camps. Kris had even received the gift of tongues and the gift of vision from the Holy Spirit. However, she eventually grew away from her upbringing and didn’t want to experience religion.

From a religious kid, Kris turned into a stripper in Tampa, Miami, and Vegas where she met her soon-to-be husband. Kris together with her boyfriend Justin continued to live a crazy and dark life. They were both hooked on different drugs. They were living their life high on drugs while chasing money and sex. However, the Lord never stopped chasing Kris even after she turned her back on Him.

Reckless Love of God

One night, while she was strip dancing, she heard the Holy Spirit talk to her. She tried to push God away but because of the reckless love of God, He never left her. On the day that Justin was about to be sentenced to 15 years in prison, he was released with only house arrest as a punishment. Kris believes that it was God who intervened at that moment. That was the day she stopped strip dancing.

Kris had a child when she was 18-years-old named Isaiah. She got him back from her mother and Kris, Justin, and Isaiah became a family. On May 29, 2015, they experienced the salvation of God like never before. Kris and Justin are now drug-free and are new creations by the grace of God.

“People would say ‘Well you can’t turn a hoe into a housewife!’ But I am living proof that God can turn you into what you were CREATED to be in the first place! I went from watching my husband chase money and women, and his brothers’ approval to chasing God,” she wrote on Facebook.

A Non-Christian Vlogger Teary-Eyed Doing A Reaction Video Of ‘Reckless Love’ Song

A vlogger musician who did a reaction video to Cory Asbury’s “Reckless Love” became speechless after hearing the beautiful worship song.

Leonardo Torres is a musician who recently joined YouTube on March 10. And on his YouTube channel, he revealed what type of vlogger he is. He wrote, “A Place For Music Reactions, Promoting My Performances, Tutorials, and Guitar Lessons.”

Apparently, among his reaction videos, one video stood out. It was his reaction video to the worship song “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury. The video went viral. In just three weeks, it reached more than 380,000 views even with just over 35,000 subscribers.

In the first lines of the song, the lyrics amazed Leonardo.

“I never heard that the love of God would be described as reckless,” he said.

Then he commended the song’s rhythm while closing his eyes along with the music. Clearly, all throughout the song, he enjoyed both the melody and the lyrics.

Touched By God’s Love

And when Cory started to exhort in the middle of the song, Leonard eagerly listened. He said that it was beautiful when Cory said, “there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don’t.”

“There’s no plan B with the love of God. He gives His heart so completely, so preposterously, that if refused we would think irreparably broken yet He gives Himself away, again and again, time and time again,” exhorted the worship leader.

Further, he added, “There’s a lot of times to get your heartbroken, and yet He opens up and allows us back in every single time. His love saw you when you hated Him. And all logic said they’ll reject Me, He said ‘I didn’t care what it cost Me. I lay my life on the line as long as I get their hearts to make it personal’..”

When Cory said “He’s [God] just that good. He’s just that kind. He is a Father that never gives up” Leonard was teary-eyed. He held back his tears and was left speechless.

Christian Worship Leader Cory Asbury Shares How God’s ‘Reckless Love’ Broke His Addiction

Christian worship leader Cory Asbury opens up about how God’s “Reckless Love” helped him overcome his addiction to pornography.

Cory Asbury, is a member of Bethel Music Collective since 2015. He is the author of 2018 Billboard’s #1 Christian Album “Reckless Love.”  Cory also serves as a worship pastor of Radiant Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has won three GMA Dove Awards and was recently nominated for a Grammy Award.

Reckless Love

A year after the release of his hit single “Reckless Love,” Cory shares about his book by the same name.  The book is a 40-day devotional where Cory boldly opens up about his struggles in life.

“With the way our western culture idolizes artists and celebrities, I wanted to give readers a real, raw look into the life and struggles of the man behind the popular song,” he said. “This is why, a year after the release of ‘Reckless Love,’ I’ve written a book by the same name.”

Addiction to pornography

In the book, he shares how he became addicted to pornography after being exposed to it at an early age. It has been an “ugly part” of his life for many years and even after he became a worship leader.

When Cory got married at the age of 21, it didn’t stop his addiction, his marriage even worsened it. He emphasized that marriage “doesn’t magically fix all the problems in your life, especially the ones entrenched through years of habitual sin.”

Filled with self-hatred and condemnation, Cory was greatly impacted by the story of David, also a worshipper who struggled with lust. At the lowest point of David’s life, he wrote Psalm 51 which includes the statement, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love.”

God’s unfailing love

As Cory reflected on that Psalm, he could relate to the heart of God as he saw God as David’s Father in the psalm.

“David didn’t let his failure define him,” Asbury wrote. “He allowed his Father to do that.”

That is when Cory allowed the “Reckless Love” of God to take over his addiction. As he wrote the words in his song “Reckless Love” it was the great love of God that inspired him. A love that despite his “dark and evil” addiction, God still sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to pay it all for him.

The award-winning Christian artist is encouraging everyone to return home to the love of the Father.

“No matter what you’re dealing with — whether pornography or pride, addiction or unforgiveness — you are never too far gone. His love will always be the way back home.”

This clearly shows us that God still moves supernaturally in the world today! Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” And we know it is because of His love for us that He reveals Himself to us.

Jo Dee Messina says, “Jesus Christ walked onto my front porch and argued with me all day long. As real as I’m sitting in this seat, Jesus came to my front porch and He’s like, ‘She’s mine.'”

She continued saying, “I was trying to sustain a career. I had a lifestyle and a family and everything, all on my own, and I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t. I was pulled way too thin and so, I was just standing on my porch one day. And Jesus Christ walked out and said, ‘She’s mine.’ I just knew it, in the middle of that, in the middle of my spirit and my soul, I’m like, ‘That’s Jesus.'”

Jesus has a reckless love for you

Jo Dee Messina felt Jesus’ love for her during this encounter and her faith, “became more real than ever.” Experiencing the love of God has transformed her. She says, “When you are going through a hard time in your family situation and you are diagnosed with cancer, and you don’t know what’s going to lie around that corner, and you have the arms of Jesus there, holding you. You never want to walk away from it.”

It’s such a heart-warming thing to see kids worshipping and praising the Lord! Truly this toddler’s heart is already so filled with the reckless love of God!

Des, 2 years-old, was in a shopping cart with his mom when this video was recorded.

His parents did an amazing job in raising their kids and in teaching them about Jesus. In a video posted in December 2017, Des is seen telling the story about the birth of Jesus while he eats his dinner.

What a testimony of how the Holy Spirit can make Himself known to even the smallest child!

“He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.'” (Matthew 18: 2-5)

Having a child is a blessing from God but at the same time, it’s also a great responsibility and we are accountable to the Lord in how we raise up the little men and women he’s entrusted us with.Let this be an example of how to raise your kid to be a person who is after God’s heart. This is how a Christian family should be: Growing deeper in love with Jesus together.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”  (Proverbs 22: 6)

Cory Asbury is a worship leader and songwriter who joined the Bethel Music Collective in May of 2015. These lines are part of the wonderful song composed by Cory Asbury titled “Reckless Love”.  The song became so popular that even Hollywood artists, little kids and soldiers were singing it.  Sometimes people get confused when they read the title of the song, but the moment you hear it and know the story behind it, you realize how intimate the love of God is.

Many people are asking, why is it called “Reckless Love”? The word “Reckless” does not refer to God Himself, the God we are serving is not reckless.  However, it refers to the way God loves us.  If you try to consider what He did on the cross, He is utterly not concerned with the consequences of His actions in regards to His safety, comfort and well being.

He is so in love with you and me, that He came to earth to show how much He is willing to sacrifice just to have you back in His arms.  His love isn’t selfish and He is never been self-serving.  He would offer His life to give us the freedom that we don’t deserve.  His love leaves the ninety-nine just to find the one who went astray.

Thousands of Army Personnel Worship Jesus At A Service That Will Bring Tears To Your Eyes

At Doughboy Stadium located at Fort Benning, Georgia, approximately 2,000 US Army soldiers assembled together last Easter Sunday for a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. In a video posted on YouTube by Jenny Reese Clark, the soldiers can be seen worshipping to the song “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury.

Worship leader Sean P. Marion posted a photo on Instagram later that day with a caption stating that 225 soldiers had chosen to give their lives to Jesus during the service! Just from watching the video of the soldiers worshipping it is so evident that the Spirit of the Lord was present  that morning.

“As the words of the song ‘Reckless Love’ by Cory Asbury were sung, the Holy Spirit moved among the crowd not just encouraging the men and women present, but causing some to give their hearts to Jesus for the very first time,” wrote Clark on YouTube. “Hallelujah!”

Since the worship song “Reckless Love” was released in late 2017 it has been a favorite during many church services for it’s simple but powerful lyrics about God’s love for us. If you are not familiar with the song, it is definitely one that you will want to listen to with the lyrics during your next devotional time with the Lord.

The song starts off with these very intimate words about God’s relationship with us:
