Everyone experiences grief, suffering, and rejection, but this doesn’t make it any easier. If you are in a place of hurting today, remember the indwelling of Holy Spirit inside of you.
God is Near
He is not in a hurry to fix you or merely take your pain away but wants you to know Him in this place too. The richness of the knowledge of God is found even in your suffering. Jesus knows the experience of grief. When it feels like no one understands you, He does. Maybe this feels difficult to believe. Meditate on this: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Renew your mind with the truth of His promises to you. In doing so, teach your heart to align with the word of God.
Rejection: Jesus Chooses You
Rejection is difficult. It stings our hearts, whether it’s not being chosen for a job, feeling left out socially, or even the loss of a relationship. I want to encourage you: don’t let the pain of rejection blind you from the eyes of Jesus upon you. While you may not have been chosen, or lost someone or something valuable to you, Jesus sees you and chooses you. You are adopted into His family, forever. God knows you intimately, in every emotion you may be experiencing.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13)
Beloved, there is limitless comfort for you in the presence of the Holy Spirit. I pray your heart fills with a fresh wind of the closeness to Jesus. I pray that the kindness of friends around you bring healing. More than anything, I pray that hope still lives on the horizon of your heart.
