Hope is having the belief – strong belief – that situations will turn around.
When we hope in the Lord, we believe that God is the One who can turn things around, not anyone, not by our strength and intelligence, but the Sovereign One Himself.
Our hope is not based on how smart we are, how hard or easy the situation is, or what people say, it’s solely a submission we make to the Lord.
A foundational scripture is John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
Children of God
A father-daughter / father-son relationship has been bought by the Blood of Jesus, so when you believe in Jesus as your Messiah and Lord, you get access to all the rights and privileges that come with being the children of the King of Kings. Children of royalty are princes and princesses.
Ephesians 2:19 says, “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” I am a part of His household. Under His wing, under His care.
Oh, how often we act like orphans, like we are not under the Master’s care.
Even as humans, we care for those in our household, you must stand and put your hope in this understanding, you call the Maker of Heaven and Earth, “Father”, and Jesus Christ paid for that access by His blood.
When I say, “Put your hope in Him”, put your hope in your Father – your hope for a turnaround in your prayer life, in your spiritual growth, in your finances, in your marriage, in your career, and what has gone wrong or is going wrong.
Put your hope in your Father and His power. He says nothing is too hard for Him. He is the Unchangeable Changer. “Can a man open a door He shuts? Can a man shut a door He closes?” He has said bring every problem to Him, so take it, and take it all…
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” Is there any situation too hard for Him?
You may say, “But the problem I face is my own doing. I committed abortion that affected my womb leading to infertility”, or “I chose to marry the wrong guy”, or “I made a mistake at work.” In a household, are you thrown out when you make a mistake?
Even for humans it takes so much for a man to kick his children out of his house, how much more God? The all patient One. When the neighbors come to complain about you, does your mother throw you to them to beat you? NEVER! When the devil accuses you, God says, “Hey! Don’t come near! God will discipline you Himself, He will not throw you out!”
You are Royalty
The devil will come hard at you with accusations. It is his nature and job. If you don’t understand who you are in Christ, your identity and relationship with God – every wind will blow you. When you make mistakes, you give up. Has God told you He cannot change things despite mistakes? 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Confess, repent, and run back into the Father’s open arms You are so loved. A wooden bloody cross at Calvary is a witness. Romans 8:38-39 tells us, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Excess love
We all need a turnaround. And as long as we are alive, we will need a turnaround in one area or another. Start putting your hope in the Father, that we are so loved inspite and despite everything. Speak to the issue as ROYALTY, go to your Father as a princess, all our hope in in YOU our loving Father. Amen.
