Worship leader and husband of Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, felt very honored for his first GRAMMY Award nominations for ‘Run To The Father’ & ‘The Blessing.’
Cody Carnes In GRAMMY Awards
On Nov. 24, the 63rd GRAMMY Award announced its nominees for 2021. For the Christian and Gospel categories, Cody Carnes received his first nomination by the Recording Academy.
Cody received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for his studio album, ‘Run To The Father,’ and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “The Blessing (Live).” The worldwide hit “The Blessing” song included his wife Kari Jobe and Elevation Worship.
The Christian songwriter expressed his amazement on Instagram. He wrote, “WHAT?!?! ???????????? I don’t even know what to say. Been feeling like I drank 37 coffees since I found out… wow. What an insane honor.”
He then revealed the people behind the album who helped him make it happen.
“I made this album with many dear friends. Thank you to every single writer, producer, musician & engineer that helped put my heart into music… overjoyed to share this honor with you!”
Moreover, Cody can’t believe he is nominated together with his wife, Kari. For the worship leader, it’s a dream.
But more importantly, he hoped that the nominations meant that the songs genuinely resonated with people. And that it has led them back to the Presence of God amidst the difficulties the world faced this year.
He said, “So many thoughts and feelings.. hard to put into words. But I’ll just say this.. I pray that these nominations represent that these songs are deeply resonating with people and that they’re pouring the hope of Jesus into dark & fearful situations in this crazy year. What a joy it is to worship Jesus with music and help lead people into His presence.”
The 63rd GRAMMY Awards winners will be announced on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021.
Other Christian artists We The Kingdom, Tauren Wells, and Ricky Dillard also received GRAMMY nominations.
