Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson has opened up about here insecurities and shares a powerful message to women.
Insecurities
In a recent Instagram post by Sadie Robertson, she opened up about her journey in overcoming her insecurities. Also, in the post, the Christian author shared snapped photos of herself facing a mirror.

She started her caption with the question, “What do you see when you look in the mirror?” Then shared a memory where she struggled with insecurity during her younger years.
Sadie admitted how she only saw her “flaws” every time she faced a mirror back then. It was like her mind would only highlight what was wrong with her appearance and “would see the acne she couldn’t shake.” She became too conscious that the young Sadie came to the point of “trying 1000 different things.” Further, the Duck Dynasty star also bought “100 more products of makeup” in trying to cover up her flaws. And then she couldn’t get enough and desired to be “more in shape” as well.

Becoming Self-Centered
Those insecurities led Sadie to make decisions that weren’t good. It only led to frustrations and getting more insecure. She also compromised her health to the point she overworked out and underate. What she saw in the mirror, and perceiving it her identity greatly affected how she lived her life.
“It also lead me to thinking about ME way too much,” Sadie remarked. The actress stressed how she became self-centered at that time.

Then finally, she realized, “The truth is, my life is just way bigger than me. My reflection is much bigger than an image. The reflection I see in the mirror doesn’t even begin to capture the true reflection I want my life to be. The mirror only sees my face and my body, but it can’t see my heart, my mind, and my soul. The things I actually need to be investing my time in to make healthy! Because that time would be truly change the way I lived!”
Light Of The World
Today, Sadie is encouraging women to see themselves beyond outward beauty. Because our identity is way more than appearance. It is “more than our perfect skin tone, our shape, our makeup, our hair or whatever else we spend time working on.”

“Our reflection has the power to truly be LIGHT,” Sadie added. “A light can change someone’s life. A light that changes the world. A light that brings hope to the dark places in our friends, family and worlds life.”
And the Christian author is calling out women “to be the light of the world” more than just being beautiful.
“You were made in the image of God and God is the light of the world,” Sadie remarked.
