Sadie “Thankful” After Surviving “Very Frightening Night”
Twenty-year-old reality star Sadie Robertson is breathing a sigh of relief after narrowly escaping a “frightening” situation a few weeks ago. She took to Instagram shortly after the event to share the hair-raising encounter and to warn others to stay alerted to potential danger. But most of all, she thanked her Heavenly Father for his divine protection.
Here’s What Happened…
Sadie alleged that three men had tailed her around the mall as she shopped. Then she states that the same men were waiting for her in the parking garage, sitting in a white van parked beside her car. The young star recounts that her heart was racing. While she refrained from detailing her response to the threat, she eventually called her dad – Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck Commander – to calm her spirit.
In her Instagram post later that night, Sadie wrote that she was smiling with “joy, peace, and thankfulness before going to bed.” She had escaped danger, yet she is well aware that there are many around the world who aren’t so fortunate.
The Evil In This World
Although Sadie has achieved far-reaching success on her own – appearing on Dancing with the Stars, starring in God’s Not Dead 2, and I’m not Ashamed, writing a New York Times bestselling book, and launching a prom dress line – she is clear-eyed and forthright, asserting that the world is not a safe or happy place for many people.
The young actress had this wisdom to share with her devoted fans: “Even though we serve a GOOD God, let me remind you that scary things can happen at any time, because until the day Jesus comes back evil will still be in the world.”
Yet even in the face of this evil, Sadie still clings tightly to hope inspired by the Lord’s promises, which are “something we have to truly be so thankful for.” Specifically, Sadie wrote that she is “thankful to be able to have joy, knowing that I’m protected in the shadow of His wing.” With true conviction, she went on to write, “I’m thankful I do not have to fear anything in the world because this world is not my home.”
Finding Peace In the Storm
This terrifying encounter was impetus enough to remind Sadie of the blessings God has showered upon her. She continued her litany of gratitude, thanking God for good people, like her earthly dad. She even thanked Hillsong United for their lyrics that comfort her, even in the midst of paralyzing fear. It is clear from her Instagram post that Sadie turns to fellow followers of Christ, prayer, music, and Scripture in times of great need.
Before signing off, Sadie took this opportunity to remind others to be aware of their surroundings. According to Sadie, “One minute of not paying attention could of [sic] created a whole different life for me.” She encouraged her fans to trust their “weird feelings,” which she also referred to as “spirit checks.”
