NFL Players virtually performs Gospel song “This Little Light Of Mine” for the American Cancer Society.
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a voluntary health organization that is dedicated to helping people battling cancer. With the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, cancer patients have been struggling. They are especially vulnerable during these times according to the statement of ACS CEO Gary Reedy.
“Because of COVID-19, cancer patients are more vulnerable than ever,” Gary said in a statement. “They are not only especially vulnerable to contracting coronavirus, but nearly 80 percent of cancer patients in active treatment have seen their screening and vital treatments delayed. The American Cancer Society must remain strong so that we can continue with the services, research, and advocacy that saves lives.”
Share The Light Campaign
To help lighten the burden that the patients are carrying, the Share The Light Campaign was started.
“The Share The Light campaign, along with support from our friends, is helping ensure we do just that. Through the Share the Light campaign, ACS will celebrate the spirit of survivors and those who care for them and at the same time raise vital donations to help ensure the American Cancer Society has what it needs to continue its lifesaving vision of a world without cancer.”
On July 16, an online event was live-streamed with the purpose of bringing hope. The virtual event featured artists performing for those who are fighting against cancer.
NFL Players Choir
Among the performance was the Gospel song “This Little Light Of Mine” by the Gospel NFL Players Choir. The group consists of former and current NFL players who shared their faith through music.
