When Danny’s ex-wife kidnapped his daughters, he struggled to continue living because of the excruciating pain. But after six years, he received a call.
Danny Steyne
Danny served the LORD most of his life. He grew up in a Christian environment, under the umbrella of a church community and fellow believers.
He also married the woman he was madly in love with, and they had four children. Everything was going well and he was very content with his life as a pastor, father, and husband.
But everything suddenly changed like a snap of a finger.
Danny’s wife left their family, saying “that was enough” for her. He was abandoned by someone he loved.
It was something he didn’t expect. Divorce was a foreign concept in their family and his siblings didn’t struggle with it, even his relatives.
“It was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever gone through at that point. I never thought it would happen to me, I never thought I would be a divorced man,” Danny said.
Even though he had custody of their four children, Danny spent many sleepless nights, weeping, and “tons of grief.” It was very difficult to go on and so he left the church he was pastoring.

Ex-wife Kidnapped His Daughters
But one day, an even more painful event happened.
His two daughters were kidnapped. Worse, by his ex-wife.
The pain he felt was nothing compared to when he got separated from his wife. Surprisingly though, Danny received an assurance from God that his daughters would come back soon. But the “soon” went on for years. Still, Danny didn’t lose hope.
People asked him how he maintained hope. And he said, “Jesus is my hope, and He had given me a promise that my children will come home.”
Danny waited for years while serving God. He continued to minister, healed the sick, and witnessed dead people raised to life again. He focused on God.
But one day, he was led to write a letter to his ex in-laws and wrote that he had forgiven them even though they didn’t ask. When asked how he could forgive them, he answered, “Because Jesus would do that.”
As a loving Father that God is, the LORD honored Danny’s obedience.
His Daughters Came Back Six Years Later
One usual noon, Danny received a call that he had been wanting for six years.
“We’ve got your daughters, they’re here. Come get your girls.”
He almost couldn’t believe it! He had been waiting for so long and when he finally heard it, he rushed to the place and reunited with his daughters.
Danny was very emotional while he recalled that moment, and he said a very essential truth that all of us should be reminded of: SURRENDER.
“You know, when we give our lives to Jesus, and when I gave my daughters to Jesus, He made a promise that He would hold them. They were His girls, they weren’t just mine. And I have to hold on to that hope.”
Can we get an “AMEN”?
