Stop wasting your time, God is calling those who sleep to arise and be awakened because greater things are about to happen.

Arise And Awake

In an episode of Pure Gold, Steven Brooks urges everyone to rise up and be awakened. Many Christians nowadays are sleeping, they cease pursuing what God wants them to do. Many are discouraged and would just want to sleep rather than face the things ahead. That is not the will of the Lord for anyone, He wants us to arise from our slumber.

“You may be saved, you may love the Lord but spiritually, you know you’re not at that place that God wants you to be. So, there’s a sense of just sleeping. That can also carry over into nature where you become discouraged and you just want to sleep… That’s not God’s will for your life, you have too much to do and too many great things that God wants to accomplish and work through you,” Steven said.

Stop Wasting Your Time

There are greater things ahead of us that are about to unfold. In the next days, or months or years, God will move mightily, this is not the time for us to waste our time.

“So, you must arise. Awake you who sleep, arise from the dead and Christ will give you light. It is time for the breaking forth of light, the breaking forth of illumination. It is time to really begin to press into the Lord.”

If you want to be a part of God’s movement, stop wasting your time. Spend your time in prayer and seeking Him. God is redeeming your wasted time.

“A rescue from lost days and lost hours and wasted time. That if you would have spent that time in prayer, you would have been a champion in the Lord and you would have overcome those things that the enemy threw at you.”

Getting Up Early

In an episode of Pure Gold, Pastor Steven Brooks talks about the benefits of getting up early and praying. The Bible has recorded many times Jesus and the apostles are praying even before the sun rises. There is so much benefit in waking up early to pray. One is that you can redeem the entire day by starting it right.

“According to the Greek, the word ‘redeem’ means to buy up completely,” Pastor Steven said. “When you get up early and pray, you actually buy that day out so that that day is full of victory. The word ‘redeem’ also means to rescue from loss. When you get up early and pray, even pray at night, what will happen is that you will position that day that you’re going to step into. You will position it from victory; you will redeem it from loss.”

Praying

By redeeming the entire day and declaring the power of the Lord over it, we are declaring that it would be a productive day. A productive day for the works of the Kingdom. There will be no wasted days if we just put Him first.

“You’ll never have wasted days. You’ll never have unproductive days, but you will have days of victory where you accomplish the things that God has assigned you to do.”

The presence of the Lord will be your guide for the day. He will tell you what to do or what to say. So, declare the presence of the Lord every day early in the morning.

“If you’ll put a great time with the Lord before you ever start your day, now you go into that day and you sense the presence of God. And what the presence of God will do is that it helps govern the way you talk.”

So, Pastor Steven puts a balanced focus on discipleship of equipping the saints while consistently throwing the nets to pull more souls into the Lord’s eternal Kingdom.

Vision

In the formation of developing this television program, Pastor Steven sought the Lord concerning the name of the show. One day, while on his knees and deep in prayer the Holy Spirit spoke to him and said, “Turn your Bible to Exodus chapter 30, verse 3, and I will reveal the name of the program to you.” As he opened his Bible to that specific page and his eyes fell upon the text, the Lord caused the words “pure gold” to be supernaturally highlighted.

“And you shall overlay its top, its sides all around, and its horns with pure gold; and you shall make for it a molding of gold all around.” – Exodus 30:3

The words stood up off the page in glistening letters, similar to a hologram. The Holy Spirit then spoke and said, “The name of the program will be Pure Gold.” Pastor Steven understood that the context of that particular verse was speaking of the altar of incense which was located in the Holy Place of the tabernacle. This sacred altar is a symbolic representation of prayer and speaks to us today of our essential need to be in daily communion with God through prayer.
