Man Finds Hope In Battle Against Cancer & 1% Chance Of Survival

Despite a grim cancer diagnosis and a one percent chance of survival, a man and his family cling to their faith in God, believing in the impossible.

Tim Bolding had many plans for the future ahead of him when he received disheartening news about his health. Doctors diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer and told him he had only “less than one percent survival over the next few months.”

After hearing the grim news, Tim’s wife, Kandy, felt discouraged that doctors didn’t even give them a chance. But despite the odds, the couple responded in faith and trusted God. And Tim’s battle with cancer began.

“Even though some devastating news had been given to us, we didn’t believe that God was finished with Tim yet,” the wife remarked.

Praying To God

Tim also shared in his interview with News Channel 10 that they have always been “a faith-based family” for 42 years. So, the couple prayed to God about their seemingly hopeless situation.

Soon, God began leading them to the right people in the medical field until they connected with the BSA Harrington Cancer Center. Through the cancer center, Tim found hope in his battle against cancer.

The Director of BSA Harrington Cancer Center, Curtis Reneau, said, “A lot of new advancements, a lot of new technology that we’re bringing here so that we can give better quality of life and more years that we’ve never seen before.”

The advancement of BSA Harrington Cancer Center’s technology immensely helped Tim with his condition. As a result, the cancer treatment, along with prayers, turned out incredible.

“A couple of weeks later they said ‘actually, y’know we think you have maybe a 25 percent chance of survival,” Tim said.

Although still battling with cancer, Tim continues to trust God with the success of his treatments.

“My doctors now believe that I have a more than reasonable chance at completely beating this,” he said. “Not just beating this, but totally annihilating cancer.”

Man Fell Off Cruise Ship & Survived 20 Hours In The Ocean: ‘The Lord Was With Me’

A man who fell off a cruise ship credits God for his miraculous survival in the middle of an ocean infested with sea creatures for 20 hours.

Last year, James Michael Grimes and his family got on a cruise ship to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was a great day for the whole family when suddenly James’ sister discovered he was missing. Apparently, he fell off the Carnival Valor ship, and it took time before his family noticed he couldn’t be found anywhere.

In an interview with Good Morning America, James detailed the harrowing experience of floating in the middle of the ocean. Apparently, he had lost consciousness when he fell into the waters. He no longer remembers how it happened, but he knew a miracle from God kept him safe amidst the ocean.

”The next thing I remember is waking up in the water,” he recalled. “The boat was out of sight. I thought, ‘Wow, this is for real. I’m out here in the sea.’”

God’s Protection

Despite his fear of drowning, James tried his best to overcome the waters. And he spent 20 hours treading and swimming in the ocean infested with various sea creatures. He shared that he encountered “the stings of jellyfish” and a “shark.” But he believes that God was protecting him amidst the ordeal.

“I can’t float myself even when I’m trying to do so…,” he said. “The Lord was with me when I was out there..”

While struggling to survive amidst the ocean, James thought of his 9-year-old daughter, Annabeth. She became his motivation to keep on living no matter what happened.

Then finally, after 20 hours, the search and rescue team found James in the waters still alive. According to the report, if they had seen him later than that time, he would have probably died.

Later, James attested that his survival was a miracle.

“I’m still bruised up and sore, but it’s a miracle I survived,” he remarked. “It wasn’t my time to die. I’m grateful to see my family again.”

A 23-year-old suffered cardiac arrest and had zero percent chance of survival. But as prayers continued to pour, he completely recovered just in time for Christmas.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest

On Dec. 8, 2017, Evan Hinson suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital, and doctors soon discovered that he suffered from cardiac arrest. It shocked his family because Evan was an athlete and had no history of heart problems. That’s why they felt even more devastated when Evan’s doctor told them they might not be able to save him.

Evan coded three times while doctors tried to stabilize him. Hence, they predicted he might not be able to make it. He “could die in the next five minutes,” or make it through the night “but then die the next morning.” There was hope the athlete would recover. But only a tiny percent of a chance. So, the doctor urged them to pray.

Prayers

The Hinson family called out to friends to pray for Evan. Later, many people showed up in the hospital and gathered together to pray for a miracle.

The next day, the athlete’s condition didn’t get better. Instead, his organs began to shut down. After hearing the heartbreaking news, his sister cried to God on her knees and prayed hard. But in the end, she told God, “God, if You need to take Evan, You’re still good.”

Later, Evan’s doctor decided to transfer him to another hospital. He went through cardiac arrest again but survived. Prayers continued to pour. And soon after, his condition began to improve as his organs started to function again.

“He went from like a zero percent chance to his organs are just completely fine!” the sister testified.

Three days later, Evan finally woke up. And doctors saw that his heart began to recover well back to its normal state.

Christian Cater is a healthy young boy who, according to his parents, Marcia and John, never experienced “colds or ear infections.” That’s why the parents were dumbfounded one day when their son suddenly collapsed.

On October 22, 2018, Marcia and John found their son lifeless on the bathroom floor after hearing a loud sound. The father immediately performed CPR on him while waiting for 911 responders. And soon, the young boy was admitted to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in a medically induced coma. That’s when his life’s battle began.

Prayer

Meanwhile, Christian’s mother, Marcia, responded to the crisis in the only way she knew how—pray.

“Not knowing any better, and with no medical background, we just prayed,” the mother said.

Soon, the family learned that Christian had suffered from cardiac arrest. They were surprised knowing that the athlete had always been a healthy young man.

“He never even got colds or ear infections,” his father said. But amid his son’s life-threatening battle, he continued trusting God for a miracle. The whole family battled through prayers. And soon, God answered their prayers—Christian survived.

According to John, it’s rare for someone to survive “after 10 minutes in cardiac arrest.” But his son survived after 30 minutes in cardiac arrest.

“The chances of survival are low and the risk of brain damage is high,” John added. That’s why today, John and Marcia testify that it was a miracle.

“Everything we’ve read, everything we’ve been told is that most often after 10 minutes, you’re dead,” Marcia explained. “But he came home, and he’s fine. We’re sitting with a miracle.”

After the attack on Christian’s health, doctors couldn’t find the cause. So, the mother concluded, “I tell him the devil tried to take him out and God said no.”

A 3-year-old boy got lost in the woods and spent two nights alone in the wilderness. And when rescuers found him, miraculously, he was safe and sound.

On Friday, authorities of Troy in northwestern Montana received a report that a toddler had been missing. And when responders arrived at the child’s home, they investigated. He was apparently last seen “playing with the family dog in the yard outside the home.” Soon, they began the expansive search and rescue mission for 3-year-old Ryker Webb.

 

Over the weekend, authorities searched all over near the place with “drones, ATVs, and dog teams as well as a boat unit to scour the water.” They also alerted the whole neighborhood to search in their respective homes as well. Then finally, on Sunday night, Ryker was found.

Miraculously Survives

According to the report, the police found the 3-year-old two miles away from his house. Although hungry and thirsty, they found Ryker healthy. Lincoln County Sheriff Darren Short saw the toddler shaken and “very, very scared.”

It was a miracle he survived. Because the toddler walked through the woods “known for having mountain lions and bears.”

Further, in a report by ABC News, Ryker apparently hunkered “down inside a couple’s shed and likely slept in a lawnmower bag.” Darren believes the little guy took cover in the shed from when he got lost until authorities found him.

Following the successful search and rescue mission, authorities immediately took the toddler to the hospital. They found nothing serious, and the 3-year-old speedily recovered, as reported by KABC-TV.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the child’s sudden disappearance after the incident. Ryker stated to the police that he just went out for a walk alone. And when he got tired, he stayed where they found him. Although that was the case, the investigation continues.

“We’re still looking into why he disappeared and why he wasn’t being watched closely,” the Sheriff told TODAY.

Miracle Twins Survive A Zero Chance Of Survival

Doctors predicted premature twins had zero chance of survival, but the mom hoped for a miracle attesting, “I prayed and prayed for them to make it.” And now both babies are thriving and inspiring the world!

Jade and her husband, Steve, had spent 11 years trying to get pregnant. However, in those years, the couple suffered an ectopic pregnancy and eight cycles of IVF, stated the report. Then finally, on Oct. 26 last year, baby Harley and Harry Crane were born. However, they were born premature. At 22 weeks and five days gestation, the doctors told them the babies wouldn’t survive, reported the Mirror.

The devastating news distressed Jade and her husband Steve after everything they’d been through for many years. But the mom never gave up hope and trusted God. She turned to prayer and refused to believe what the doctors told them.

Turning To God

“I had a sense of peace. And I prayed and prayed for them to make it, for them to cry to show signs of life, which they did,” she revealed in an interview with BBC.

Further, Jade went on recalling to Mirror, “When Harley let out the smallest of cries, the room went mad. And they suddenly offered life-saving treatment. It felt amazing to hear them cry, though I was still scared.”

And soon, the twins defied all the fatal odds and miraculously survived the ordeal. They are now dubbed as “the earliest-born babies to survive” in the country, according to Faithwire.

“They’ll go down in medical history,” Jade remarked. “I’m sure they’ll have a ward named after them because everyone is just amazed by them!”

Miracle Babies

Today, the little twins are 16 weeks old. And according to the report, they might be released soon from the hospital because of their now healthy condition, contrary to the early prediction.

In a Facebook post from Nottingham University Hospitals, they wrote, “The twins — born weighing 500g and the size of a Mars Bar — had not been expected to survive.”

They also added, “Believed to be Britain’s youngest surviving premature twins, Harley and Harry continue to amaze doctors and nurses at QMC as they go from strength to strength.”

In an article from Daily Mail, “babies born at 22 weeks are not classed as legally viable and medical intervention is sometimes not offered.” That is why Harley and Harry surprised the world with their survival. And the Mirror deems it a “medical miracle.”

TV Show Host Alex Trebek Credits God For Beating Low Survival Rate Cancer

Television game show “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek credits God for his beating the low survival rate for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.

Alex was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in 2019. For a year, he has undergone chemotherapy and a series of treatments for cancer that only has an 18% rate of one-year survival. Recently, he was happy to announce that he reached the one year mark.

“I’m very happy to report I have just reached that marker,” Alex said. “Now, I’d be lying if I said the journey had been an easy one. There were some good days, but a lot of not-so-good days. I joked with friends that cancer won’t kill me; the chemo treatments will. There were moments of great pain, days when certain bodily functions no longer functioned, and sudden massive attacks of the great depression that made me wonder if it really was worth fighting on.”

Faith in God

The ambassador for World Vision credits his faith in God and the prayers from his supporters for his survival.

“But I brushed that aside quickly because that would have been a massive betrayal – a betrayal of my wife and soulmate Jean who has given her all to help me survive,” he said. “It would have been a betrayal of other cancer patients who have looked to me as an inspiration and a cheerleader of sorts of the value of living and hope. And it would certainly have been a betrayal of my faith in God and the millions of prayers that have been said on my behalf.”

Optimism

Alex’s oncologist is optimistic that he could also survive the two-year mark.

“My oncologist tried to cheer me up the other day,” Alex shared. “He said, ‘Alex even though the two-year survival rate is only 7 percent,’ he was certain that one year from now the two of us would be sitting in his office, celebrating my second anniversary of survival.”

Nothing is truly impossible with God and prayer. Miracles happen when we surrender all our trials to God. Alex Trebek is a walking miracle!

The smallest premature baby, who only had 0.5% chance of survival, miraculously overcame death and now lives as a healthy, happy baby!

Little Manushi was born at just 28 weeks due to a sudden complication during pregnancy. Manushi’s mother, Seeta, was rushed into an emergency C-section after an ultrasound revealed an absence of blood flow to the fetus.

The miracle baby was just 8.6 inches long and her skin was paper-thin. She had underdeveloped lungs, brain, heart, and kidneys so doctors predicted that she only has a 0.5% chance of survival. Manushi is believed to the smallest surviving baby in Asia.

Hospital staff and doctors worked tirelessly to save the little baby.

“She was struggling to breathe, so was immediately put on advanced respiratory support ventilator to expand her tiny, immature lungs. We had to start her on total parenteral nutrition. This type of nutrition is designed to give all the essential nutrients such as amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals and multivitamins directly into blood circulation.” Chief neonatologist Dr. Sunil Janged said.

Because of the family’s low income, the hospital waived Manushi’s medical bill that costs about 1,000,000 Rupees (over $14,000). The doctor wanted Manushi’s survival to send a message.

“We decided to save the life of the baby and offer her necessary medical care and attention because we wanted to send out a message that a girls must be protected. In a state like Rajasthan where female infanticide is rampant, people have to come forward and take a step to end this evil practice.”  Dr. Janged revealed.

Little fighter

On 2018, Manushi was discharged from the hospital as a happy and healthy six-month-old baby. Manushi is now living the normal life of a baby. God surely has great plans for this miracle baby!

“She’s just fought and fought and fought against all the odds, but she’s made it,” Manushi’s parents said.

Making the right choices in life is an essential element to survival and Bear has certainly shown us how to survive in some of the world’s toughest terrains.

While learning military survival skills in the Special Air Service (SAS) of the British Army Bear overcame many challenges. Since then he has climbed Mount Everest, circumnavigated the UK on a jet ski, crossed the North Atlantic on a boat to name a few of his exploits.

Of course, he has also been featured on many different reality TV series. These include The Island; Born Survivor; Ultimate Survival, Man vs Wild, Get Out Alive, Escape From Hell, Worst-Case Scenario and now You Vs Wild. He has written several best-selling books including his autobiography, Mud, Sweat and Tears,  A Survival Guide To Life and True Grit.  Today there is even a Bear Grylls survival theme park in the UK.

Bear was Britain’s youngest ever Chief Scouts and he holds the honorary rank of lieutenant commander in the Royal Naval Reserve and lieutenant colonel in the Royal Marines Reserve.

So, in a life-threatening situation Bear is definitely the kind of guy to have around. The truth is we are all in a life-threatening situation and ultimately there are only two options.

Like the new You Vs Wild series we have an either / or choice to make. It’s a choice between life and death, good and evil. God gives us a choice to serve Him by receiving His son as Lord and Savior or going our own way which is the path of sin that leads to death.

In Deuteronomy 30:19 God says, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life.” It’s a simple choice and He even gives us a clue to the answer. Choose life!

In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,” Choose to follow Jesus and become a child of our Heavenly Father.

This is a decision Bear has already made. He accepted Jesus as a boy, though he became disillusioned with religion. However, he soon learned that following Jesus is the greatest adventure one can have in life. Bear committed his life to Jesus and openly shares his faith. He has been a prominent spokesperson for the Alpha Course and has shared his testimony on CBN.

Bear discovered that Jesus is the most radical person that ever lived and that there is a strong link between survival and life. One of his favorite Bible verses is Matthew 5:3 in the Message Bible: “You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule.”

Though he is the author of A Survival Guide To Life, Bear will be the first to tell you that the Bible is the ultimate Survival Guide To Life. Nothing beats it in helping you grow as a person and make the right decisions.

“Together you and I are going to find our way back to civilization,” Bear says in the You vs Wild promo video. May you find your way back to God as well. He sent His only Son so that if you believe on Him you will not perish but have eternal life.
