A secular university in Texas is experiencing revival as students gather to worship and pray. These students have a big heart for God.
Texas A&M University
For months, students at TAMUCC (Texas A&M University Corpus Christi), many of whom attend New Life Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, have demonstrated their boldness for Christ. Because of this, numerous salvations, baptisms, and healings happen at the secular university.
The Asbury Revival sparked revival meetings at numerous schools and colleges across the United States. On their campuses, many students have longed for and pressed into God as they experienced the blaze of revival.
Lee University came after Asbury, Cedarville, Samford, the University of the Cumberlands, and Campbellsville. And, just a few weeks ago, a secular university blew up in revival as well.

A campus-approved Christian organization named New Life Church Young Adults is the largest Christian club at TAMUCC. It is led by the pastor at New Life Church, Mike Fehlauer.
It has been reported that last Friday night, around two hundred individuals came to pray for revival for both their institution and for all of America. The meeting lasted for five hours.
Mike told Charisma News, “In light of what God did at Asbury and other Christian universities, it was wonderful to see this gathering of students who have such a heart for God. There was a strong spirit of repentance and desire for greater holiness.”
100 People Accepted Jesus at a Secular University
More than 600 students from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi attended a one-night event on campus in August of last year. According to Mike, there were more than 51 spontaneous baptisms and approximately 100 people who accepted Christ.
“We believe that God is up to something on that campus. Each week, we are seeing salvations and baptisms from the 15 different student life groups that meet throughout the week. For me, to see these young people show a true heart of repentance is very inspiring,” Mike said.
“There has to be a spirit of repentance, and we’re seeing that a lot among our youth,” says New Life Church Youth Pastor Mario Carrete. He added:
It’s amazing what’s happening in our high schools, but it also incredible what’s happening on our local college campus as well. Whereas you have a lot of young adults who have given into the secular culture and want to just have fun and party, well, this is a different kind of party. It’s a party where everyone is invited, and everyone is invited to accept Jesus as their savior. We know that these gatherings—and our young adults’ group—are making a difference in these kids’ lives, and we thank God for it. We thank God that what is happening at Asbury and across the nation. These GenZers’ zest for God is growing and growing. It’s amazing.
It’s empowering to see the younger generation so passionate for more of God. The Lord is pleased when His people praise and worship Him. Revival isn’t dead, and it is here as long as we stay hungry and thirsty for Him.
As we see life-changing testimonies and powerful encounters, may we never forget that He alone deserves all the glory and honor!
