Coronavirus And The Blood Of Jesus

Many of us have likely prayed for the coronavirus to “pass over” our homes, families, and loved ones. It was the blood of a lamb that caused the angel of death to keep moving past Hebrew doorways. The blood of Jesus Christ, which the Passover pointed to, that accomplishes so much more.

Isaiah foresaw the incredible efficacy of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. In chapter 53:4-6 (NIV), the prophet explained:
“Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.”

What the blood of Jesus accomplished

Jesus endured the spikes driven into His hands and feet and the humiliating death on the cross for our healing and redemption. He took our sin, pain, and suffering so that we could be whole in spirit, soul, and body.

Wholeness comes by agreeing with God about who we are in Christ and choosing to walk out the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). If, for example, we choose love instead of insults, we have to change our minds about insulting others – that’s called repentance.

Looking to the blood

Some may say that coronavirus is a judgment upon the whole world for sin. I don’t know. But as Passover and Easter approach, I can’t help being reminded that it’s my sin that sent Jesus to the cross. Jesus was pierced and crushed for my transgressions and crushed for my iniquities. I need to repent for my own sin as Scripture and Holy Spirit reveal it to me. But His blood has washed me clean. I am a new creation learning how to live as a new creation in Christ. I looked to his blood the day he saved me from the kingdom of darkness.

Scientists are now looking to the blood of COVID-19 survivors for antibodies to fight the illness. There is healing in the blood. First and foremost, in the blood of Jesus. Let’s plead Jesus’ blood over ourselves and our homes. We can repent for our sin and be grateful for Jesus’ forgiveness.

No matter what happens, we are safe under the blood of Jesus!

Spiritual Warfare: It’s time to put on your armor Church

There is increased spiritual warfare that the church has begun to experience in this hour. I have seen it first hand in my own ministry, and those that write into our ministry. Many are under attack personally, but more than us being attacked personally, I believe the church globally, and nationally is under attack. I felt strongly the Holy Spirit speaking this over the Body, that it was time for us to engage in skillful warfare. We must put on our armor and prepare for the battle ahead of us. I want to help the body with this article with some basic things I have learned in spiritual warfare over the years.

The Victory Of The Cross – Our Spiritual Warfare

Colossians 2:13-15: “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”

One of the greatest revelations I have received in the ministry of spiritual warfare is that the Victory has already been won by the cross and the blood. Spiritual Warfare is not just about fighting the devil. Many misunderstood the ministry of spiritual warfare and it’s importance in enforcing the Victory Of The Cross. Some reject spiritual warfare saying it’s too devil focused. However, this is not true nor biblical. Spiritual Warfare is about God, not the devil. Spiritual Warfare is about enforcing the victory that has already been won through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The verse above said that as a result of the cross hell was disarmed, and openly defeated. If two nations both have nuclear weapons and are in a war, and then suddenly one of the nations is disarmed the whole trajectory of the war changes. All because their weapons were taken. If this happened in a natural war the battle would be over. All that would need to be done is overthrown by the victor.

When Satan’s kingdom was disarmed, by what Jesus did on the cross, we were commissioned as Heaven’s ambassadors. This gave us the legal authority to advance and bring under subjection all demonic power. The cross and the blood are our legal documentation in the spirit to advance into the darkness of Satan’s kingdom. So as you begin to engage the enemy, it’s important that you do it from a place of victory. We do not have to be afraid of the enemy because he has already been defeated. In prayer and intercession we must begin to declare in the realm of the spirit that Satan, you have been legally defeated once and for all. I overturn your plans and enforce the Victory Of Christ.

Spiritual Warfare and The Authority Of The Believer

We as believers have been given authority in the earth through the death and resurrection Of Jesus Christ. Jesus then, before ascending back to the Father to sit at His right hand, delegated His authority to us as His bride over all the powers of the enemy, giving us legal authority in Jesus name over all demonic powers. The spirit realm and prayer is all about legalities. Heaven has a courtroom, we must grasp that prayer is about more than just loving on Jesus. That is our focus, but spiritual warfare prayer and intercessory prayer is mostly a legal battle. That’s why most of the deliverance is about what doors were opened for Satan to enter. Satan is legalistic, Satan is a demonic lawyer in the spirit. That’s why he is so effective in nations at changing laws. Believers must understand that we have been given Christ’s authority in prayer. We must also understand that though we have been given the authority of Christ, there are levels of authority like in the United States Army. I was given a powerful revelation which is that the army of God is actually set up similar to that of the United States Army. In the army, there are Captains, Lieutenants and so on. When you become a believer you are given entry-level authority like a person joining the military. Satan kingdom is also organized this way, he has a ranking. We see this in Ephesians 6.

As believers our authority gives us the ability to speak to demonic powers and they must obey legally. I believe this is why God has breathed on teaching the courts of heaven. He wants to equip us to be more effective in prayer legally. Many have prayed prayers for twenty years with no answer. In understanding the authority that has been given and using it in prayer, we by using our legally delegated authority, will cause regional principalities to bow, and see the overthrow of demonic structures and much more in Jesus name.

The Blood – The Weapon of Spiritual Warfare

One revelation that we have lost in spiritual warfare is the revelation of The Blood Of Jesus. Having a revelation of the blood will save your life. In natural warfare when a soldier is badly wounded and taken to the hospital they are given blood to bring them back to strength and life. In the Old Testament book of Exodus, the blood was used as protection in Egypt, as the spirit of death came upon the land to kill the firstborn. Only those that applied blood had the spirit of death pass by there homes. The blood was deaths do not enter warning. This declared in the realm of spirit divine protection. This is what applying the blood also does in our lives and ministries. It says, “devil you have been defeated and can not enter this life, city and or nation.” In the new testament, the blood is both a defensive and offensive weapon in the spiritual battle. As we apply the blood in prayer Satan is reminded of his defeat. The blood terrorizes the enemy’s kingdom and is a continual reminder of his defeat and our victory. There truly is power in applying the blood of Jesus. As we pray for cities, nations and even our personal lives. Like in the book of Exodus when we apply the blood we will see deliverance released. We will see the protective power of the blood overcome the powers of this age. We must apply the blood, and also lose the blood as we pray. There is deliverance and healing in the blood. The Bible is the book of Revelation (find scripture) says that we overcome Satan by the blood. The key to God’s people to overcome in this season is locked up in a revelation of the blood of Jesus. It’s time that you began to use the blood as a weapon in your offense and defense in warfare.

The Full Armor Of God & Spiritual Warfare

As we advance the kingdom through spiritual warfare prayers we must understand that we are not naked soldiers, but have been given a six-piece weaponry suit that is supposed to be put on daily, never to be taken off. Many believers are praying naked in the spirit. Paul in writing about this armor is paralleling our armor as believers to that of the Roman soilers of his day. Can you imagine a soldier going into battle with no weapons or natural covering? This is what many believers are doing daily. These six pieces of armor equipment are:

First, the belt of truth
Secondly, the breastplate of righteousness
Third, the shoes of the preparation of the Gospel
Fourthly, the shield of Faith
Fifth, the helmet of salvation
Sixth, the sword of the Spirit;

These six weapons are our secret weapons in the spirit. With these, we will be able to stand against every attack that Satan brings against us.

The Belt Of Truth

A belt is meant to hold up something. This piece of armor is meant to hold up a standard of spiritual truth. This protects us from deception and the lies of the enemy. This belt, when put on in prayer, protects us from error in the spirit. Many false prophets are born out of a lack of putting their belt of truth on in prayer.

The Breastplate Of Righteousness

This piece of armor is meant to protect our hearts from being lead after other lovers. Idolatry becomes our portion when in the secret place we do not put on our Breastplate that protects the heart. Satan is after the hearts and minds of a generation this army is crucial to our hearts staying established in God’s loving nature.

The Shoes Of The Preparation Of The Gospel

Shoes represent walking, always ready to run, and flee Satan’s temptations. Like Joseph who ran from the wife of Potipher. We must run, while also being prepared to preach the word of life to the lost. These shoes are preparational and needed in warfare.

Shield Of Faith

Demonic darts are constantly being shot at the people of God. These are darts of witchcraft, lies, and doubt, among other things. The only way we can survive is by having the shield of Faith. In seasons of an attack on all sides, we must in prayer lift up our shield even concerning our family members, churches and cities. Our shield is not just for us. Every demonic arrow will fall as you walk with your shield in hand.

The Helmet of Salvation

The greatest battle taking place in the earth right now is not the LGBTQ agenda or racism. But is the battle over the control of the minds of the human race. The mind is the battlefield, this piece of armor in my experience is our most important. We are told to pull down strongholds. These strongholds are not just in cities or regions, but are in the minds of people; in prayer, we are to pull down strongholds in the minds of people and also ourselves. We are then to put on the helmet of salvation, which is the mind of Christ. This helmet gives us heavens perspective. It protects our minds from the lies of the enemy.

The Sword Of The Spirit

A sword is meant to kill and is offensive. This weapon is the key to our victory in warfare praying. It is the word of God that we use in prayer as our sword. Like Jesus in the wilderness, after he fasted, Jesus used the scripture to fight back against the enemy. We must pray the scripture, and use them as our foundation in prayer. The word of God is sharp declares the word, and as we pray the word in prayer every demonic spirit or structure must move. The word is binding in prayer and is legal in the spirit. It is like a bomb against Satan’s kingdom.

The Blood Remembers…

How wonderful it is to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection worldwide once a year! But I say it’s even better when, after celebrating that day of days, to remember the power of His blood every day—24/7/365. Why? The Blood remembers us. Every promise in the Word of God is ours because of Jesus’ sacrifice.

Every day of the year, we should remember His life. When Jesus started His earthly ministry, He kept going until all who would receive salvation in Israel (and ultimately, in the world) would believe. He kept going after being tortured and crucified. He kept going after stripping the enemy of His power and taking the keys of death, hell, and the grave. And He kept going from there until He rose again with all power and authority.

But even then, Jesus didn’t stop. He kept putting one foot in front of the other (Acts 1:3). He appeared to Mary Magdalene at the Garden Tomb (John 20:11–18); He showed up and spoke to two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35); and finally, He appeared to all the disciples (John 20:19–29). Then He did “many other signs,” speaking of the kingdom of God (John 20:30–31). After that, He kept going, ascended to Heaven, and sat down on the right hand of the Father, where He always intercedes for us (Romans 8:34).

What does this mean to you and me? I can testify that when Jesus came into my life, He started working in me and hasn’t ever stopped. What about you? From the moment I received Him as Lord, I knew my life would be different, better. For the first time in years, I felt pure in my soul. I couldn’t explain it, but I couldn’t shake it. My desires had changed. He moved in me to seek Him, talk to Him, and respond to His instruction. And, somehow, I found that doing what He told me to do wasn’t as difficult as I had once thought it might be.

The Promise of Mercy

Oh, yes! The Blood remembers! We should celebrate every day because Jesus paid the price for us to come into God’s presence. Hebrews 12 tells us: “For you have not come [as did the Israelites in the wilderness] to a [material] mountain that can be touched, [a mountain] that is ablaze with fire, and to gloom and darkness and a raging storm, and to the blast of a trumpet and a voice whose words make the listeners beg that nothing more be said to them…But rather, you have come to Mount Zion, even to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem…And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy]…” (18–19, 22, 24, AMP, emph. mine)

The Blood remembers; it speaks before the throne of God. Because Jesus died and rose again, His blood continually declares mercy over our lives. How many times have you wanted, and needed, God’s mercy? I can’t even tell you how often I have. God is good. We could never hope to qualify or earn our way into His presence on our own merit. In ancient times, the Israelites had to sacrifice animals to draw near to God. But now, we can draw near to Him through the shed blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19–22). Every time we wake up to a new day, we should remember God’s mercy.

The Promise of Wholeness

This one’s a clincher, because for one reason or another, we don’t always walk in wholeness. But Isaiah 53 4–5 says, “Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole” (AMP, emph. mine).

Transgressions are things we willfully do, knowing they violate God’s Word.¹ Iniquities, whether intended or not, are basically the same, but speak to frequency.² I need God’s mercy every day, sometimes moment by moment. I don’t know about you, but there are times when my thoughts or attitude aren’t what they should be. There are times when I say (or don’t say) things I know aren’t pleasing to God. And what about the things we do (or don’t do), that if we truly remembered God’s love and what Jesus has done for us, we’d never go there?

Because the Blood remembers and covers us, no matter what we do or how often we’ve done it, God extends His mercy. We can come boldly to His throne of grace, confess our sins, and He will forgive and cleanse us (Hebrews 4:16; 1 John 1:9). Because Jesus shed His Blood, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Finally, because Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice, He heals us. I am writing to you today because of God’s grace and healing power. My daughter is alive and well because the Lord healed her three days after she was born. I could go on and on. And then there’s the peace of God. Philippians 4 describes it well—it transcends our understanding as we abide in Christ and bring our requests to Him (vv. 6–7). Surely, we should have a daily celebration that Christ makes us whole in every way.

The Promise of Comfort, Direction, and Power

If these promises weren’t enough, when Jesus shed His blood and rose again, the Father gave us an incredible promise: His Holy Spirit. Because the Blood remembers, Holy Spirit teaches us, guides us, comforts and strengthens us, and tells us things to come (John 14:26; 16:12–15). When we’re saved, He seals us for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). He also fills us with power to walk in our purpose and continue the work of Jesus (Acts 1:4–8; 2:1–4).

Shortly after I was saved, I asked God for this promise. When He answered, it revolutionized my life and my walk with Him. Because the Blood remembers, I am never alone. The Comforter is with me whether I’m awake or sleeping, teaching me, guiding me, and showing me the way to go. When I read the Bible, He is there, giving me insight and understanding. When I write, He directs me. When I’m doing business, He gives me wisdom. Because the Blood remembers, I am empowered to fulfill my purpose in every area of my life. You are, too! How many ways has God impacted your life through His Holy Spirit? Truly, every day of the year, we can thank God for remembering us and abundantly providing for every need.

We Must Remember the Power of the Blood

Jesus did so much in the 40 days after His resurrection that John 21:25 says, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did. If they should be all recorded one by one [in detail], I suppose that even the world itself could not contain (have room for) the books that would be written” (AMP). I have lost count of the many ways God has kept His promises in my life. What about you? Because of Jesus’ supreme sacrifice, His Blood remembers…24/7/365.

As I close, take a moment to go back to the cover of this article and look at the beautiful, red cross. Read every word, every promise. Each one is yes and amen for you! Jesus’ divine power has given you everything you need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him (2 Peter 1:3). Even more, Isaiah 9:7 declares that His government and His peace will never end—like the power of His precious blood.

Yes, we just celebrated Jesus’ resurrection, but I say we shouldn’t stop there. Let us remember what His blood has purchased for us, activating it by faith every day of our lives. Let us seek God, worship Him, obey and serve Him with our whole heart. Every day when we open our eyes, let us remember Jesus, for His blood remembers us.

“For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (AMP)

Many people claim Jesus as personal Lord and Savior but are not walking in the POWER of their salvation, nor are they partaking and enjoying ALL the benefits Jesus provides for them. Jesus told us in John 10:10 that He came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. That means a life that goes far beyond mere existence to living a life overflowing in the power and blessings that actually make life enjoyable. That may sound too good to be true, considering the state many find themselves dealing with daily. Sin, sickness, broken relationships, and every evil work of the enemy seem to be in full operation. But the holy Blood of Jesus has the power to transcend these bonds and allow us to access the precious promises of the Lord. This is the hope that is offered to each of us, new life in Christ Jesus. This new life extends the hope to be cleansed, redeemed, set free, healed and delivered.

The Cleansing Healing Power of the Blood

Are you ready to find out how to be set free from the condemnation and guilt of sin? Has the enemy held you captive with thoughts of past events and memories? Can you give reasons why God would not forgive, heal, deliver, and set you totally free? Have you felt unclean, defied, stained by sin? You can be confident of one thing – Jesus would assure you, “but My Blood took care of that! The Blood is the priceless cleanser for the stain of sin and the remedy for all sickness and disease.

The Lord wants you to know not just about the power of the Blood. He wants you to know how to apply and walk in the power of the Blood. He wants you to know your true identity,“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”(1 Peter 2:9). Once you grasp hold of these truths you will find you have been given the power to break free of every bond of the enemy. You can settle it in your mind and heart that Jesus has already paid the price for you to be free from sin and sickness.

Mark 2:6-12 is the account of Jesus healing a paralyzed man. The interesting point of this event is that Jesus spoke to the man and said “Son, your sins are forgiven.” The man never asked for forgiveness, he came to get healed. But Jesus answered those that questioned his actions, “Which is easier to say? Your sins are forgiven or take up your bed and walk?” Jesus was teaching an important lesson. He came to release us from the bonds of sin and sickness. His shed blood is the remedy for both. How was His Blood shed? Through His wounds He suffered at the whipping post and on the Cross of Calvary. Romans 5:8-9 states, God demonstrated His love for us, that although we were sinners, Christ died for us, justified and saved us by His blood. Isaiah 53:4-5 tells us that by the stripes (wounds) of Jesus we were healed. The same Blood Jesus shed for our redemption flowed through the wounds He endured for our healing. By His holy, precious Blood, Jesus took care of the sin and sickness problem!

What is the key to perfect liberty and victorious living? The precious, holy Blood of Jesus. It is the key to our wonderful salvation which embraces forgiveness of sin, healing, deliverance, and abundant life. We must hold dear and esteem the Blood with honor. The Blood of Jesus draws us nigh unto Him and brings us into the family of God as his sons and daughters. What a privilege! Thank God for the Cleansing Healing Power of the Blood!
