Bishop T.D. Jakes recently talked about a time where he was so broken beyond repair, to the point that he told God, “I hate this.”
Bishop T.D. Jakes
He is the senior pastor of The Potter’s House. Today, The Potter’s House has over thirty thousand members and over fifty ministries. In addition to church, Bishop T.D. Jakes hosts a weekly show called the T.D. Jakes’ show. The T.D. Jakes’ show is one of the main vehicles that he uses to empower believers through his visionary leadership.
T.D. Jakes once said, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” This statement shows the foundation and mission of his ministry, which is to teach believers how to provide for themselves. T.D. Jakes’ vision is to raise up men, women, and children in the Body of Christ to be mature believers that can, in turn, raise up others. It is truly a vision of legacy!

He was literally crying and told God, “Lord, I hate this. I absolutely hate this. But I love You, and I know you would not allow me to go through this if it were not for my good.”
It was a season of trial, but he pressed on and trusted God.
Encouragement
“And though tears are running down my face and I cannot see my way out… “If You suffered me to be bruised, it was only to make me better. And so I trust You when I can’t trace you. Because He that hath begun a good work in me shall bring it to completion,” he concluded.
An Instagram user “Faith Over Fear” shared how T.D. Jakes’ testimony touched her heart and encouraged her to keep going.
She shared in an open letter, “Today, my heart feels heavy, burdened by the weight of sorrow and pain. Life has thrown me into a storm, and I find myself struggling to see the light amidst the darkness. But even in this sadness, I want to remind myself and all of you to always give thanks to God.
It’s easy to feel abandoned and forgotten when life becomes unbearably tough. It’s natural to question why we have to endure such heartache and despair. But in these moments, it’s crucial to remember that God is always with us, even when it feels like He’s distant,” she wrote.
