Over the past few years of Steve Harvey’s journey in show business, “God’s voice” helped him discern which path to take.
Steve Harvey
Steve is known as one of Hollywood’s best comedians. Even though he grew up in difficult circumstances, he rose to stardom because of his faith. On one account, he shared how God had been faithful after being rejected many times.
“God is the Creator of all doors, man. Just walk down the hall because He got something bigger. Renew your faith. Keep praying. God is always coming.”
Steve is known to openly share his convictions. Time and time again, he would inspire people by saying, “Have faith.”
In his recent interview on the TODAY show with Hoda Kotb, he shared how he gave his all and pushed forward without any backup plans. For him, “Plan B will stop you from giving your all to Plan A.”

Writing Jokes
God’s voice was what kept Steve pushing through every obstacle he faced. But he still didn’t have it easy. At the beginning of his career, he would write jokes for others in exchange for 10 bucks. He would do this constantly until a woman approached and encouraged him to join a comedy club contest.
Now, he has wanted to be on TV since he was ten years old. But many told him that he didn’t have what it takes to be one.
But when he won the comedy club contest, he proved that they were wrong.
“Every critical moment, every bad decision, every heartbreak, every setback, every moment of misery, think of all that has happened to you. Your survival rate, for surviving hard and insurmountable, unthinkable hard times… your survival rate is 100 percent,” he said.
God’s Voice
When asked how he decided to leave everything behind and risk becoming homeless to pursue his dream, Steve said that it was God’s voice that led him to where he is now. “You will know, because God’s voice has no sin in it,” he said.
“God gives everybody at one point in their life an opportunity. Everybody is given a shot to make a decision. To go left or right. Everybody gets a shot, and you can choose not to or to… You’re going to be tested and challenged. When you start doing something right and in the middle it feels wrong, you don’t stop. Have faith that impossible things are possible,” he said.
It is no secret that public figures are under the scrutiny of the masses. Steve is not an exception.
“It’s hard. You make a mistake; you’re on TV. And they’re going to talk about you without all the information. You’ve got to develop a tough skin. Trust and believe that you’re going to get past that. It may seem impossible now, and it may look like it’s going to last longer than it should, but this is going to go away. And you just have to believe that. It’s going to go away. Because it is.”
