Instagram Influencer Encourages Everyone To Trust God In Every Circumstance

An Instagram influencer is encouraging follower to trust God in every circumstance.

Christian Instagram influencer Jenessa Wait recently shared some words of encouragement to her 366,000 followers. She started her video by sharing how God saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the furnace and how God saved Daniel in the lion’s den.

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego weren’t spared the fiery furnace, they were spared in the furnace. Daniel wasn’t spared the lion’s den, he was spared in the lion’s den. He still went. A lot of us are praying, ‘Oh God, please don’t send me to the lion’s den.’ And God wants to spare us in that situation and grow our faith and grow our understanding and to help us understand and be patient and trust Him.”

Jenessa then shared her testimony of how God saved her while she was in the hospital. There are times when God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want them to be answered, but one thing is for sure, He will never leave us nor forsake us.

“I wasn’t spared from the hospital, but I was spared in the hospital. What’s your story? Maybe God didn’t spare you from that thing that you were trying to pray away, but He spared you in it. And He still has plans for you!”

Trust God

No matter what circumstance you are in, God will make a way when there seems to be no way. You are not alone and you can trust God and His promises to you.

Jenessa continued, “God will lead you THROUGH!! Even if you’re not spared the valley, He will lead you through the valley. God has a plan! He is REALLY good at taking hard things and turning them into beauty. Trust the Lord. Take His hand. And know that He IS with you and will never forsake you.”

Do Not Be Afraid…Surrender Brings Life

Welcome to day 17 of our chapter-by-chapter walk through the Gospel of Luke, all as part of this December series Do Not Be Afraid. You know, there’s a wonderful line in Luke chapter 17. It’s hard to read, but when we realize God always has good things in store, when Jesus says, “If you try to preserve your life, you’ll lose it. Yet, if you have the courage to lose your life, you will preserve it.”

You know, there was a season in Patricia and my life when we knew that we had to move, we had to change what we were doing, and we had to give up our careers. We had that sense from heaven, that the Father was asking us to lay down something. And I was in a conference, it was a wonderful conference with all your favorite GOD TV speakers, and one of them said this incredible line, “You’ve got to give up to go up.” And so we went back to where we were living at the time, and we put our house on the market. We sold all our furniture, we gave notice for our careers. And that was the thing that allowed us, with just a couple of boxes, to come back to the UK and to start volunteering with GOD TV.

You know, if I could talk to the younger version of myself, I’d say, “You know, this scripture is true. If you try and preserve what you’ve got, it’ll go. But if you let it go, the Lord will preserve it.” If He’s not just Savior, if He’s Lord, then let Him rule in your life. Let Him be Lord. And when He asks you to give something up, whether it be a relationship, or a job situation, perhaps it’s finances that He’s asking you to sow into the Gospel. If we will, rather than preserving it and holding it tight, if we will let it go, then He has a wonderful, extraordinary way of preserving it.

If I could look back at that younger man and give him a word of encouragement, I’d say that the Gospel is true. If I could let him in some extraordinary way, see where we are now, maybe a few more gray hairs than what I had back then, but understand how it all worked out. Perhaps when Jesus said, that if you preserve your life, you’ll lose it, but if you lose your life in Him, it will be preserved. Have courage today. Do not be afraid. Let the Lord be Lord of your life today and lead you to His abundance, which may appear that the first thing you do is just let it go.

You know, we are called to preach the Gospel to all the nations of the earth, and we cannot do this without you. What Does The Bible Say About Trusting God?

When we’re facing a challenge, it’s easy to fall into one of two traps: We can either give up hope and lose faith in God or become fearful and doubt His promises. Both of these reactions are wrong, but they can be hard to avoid. Fortunately, there is a third way—we can trust God!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

He is with you!

We are also told, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 ESV

We are reminded that we are never alone when we trust in God. He promises to always be with us—and even if a situation looks dark or hopeless, we can trust Him to see us through it.

When we trust God wholeheartedly, He helps us overcome any obstacle that comes our way!

Psalm 56:3 – “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we live by faith, not by sight.

Trust God

God is the only one who can truly help us through the obstacles that life throws at us. He has promised to be with us always, and He never breaks His word. That’s why we need to trust Him completely and depend on Him for everything—even when we don’t understand what’s going on around us!

Finding A Place Of Rest

Rebecca, one of the chapters in your book, perhaps the one that I’m probably most guilty of of doing poorly, but I did chuckle reading it, you didn’t do so great either, but just was this issue of rest. Now, would you please encourage the GOD TV family, that it’s not just about being busy, it’s not just about being active, it’s actually about the Shabbat of the Lord and finding that place of wholeness. It was certainly the chapter of the book that I needed the most remedial work on.

I’m right there with you. I’m learning this one myself. I’m a go-getter. It’s hard for me to sit still, but I’ve had to work at it. And one thing that I learned from the scriptures was that when God created the Sabbath, He was actually wanting to treat His people like royalty. And when we don’t rest, we’re actually not embracing that part of our identity in Christ. So when Israel was enslaved and bondaged in Egypt, they had to work all the time. There was no weekend, no holidays. It was enforced slave labor and abuse. And so when God brought His people out of Egypt, you know, they were coming from a culture where only the royalty and the wealthy took time off from work.

And so when God scripted His story for His people and brought them out of slavery, He said, “I’m gonna treat you like royalty. I’m gonna give you a day to rest and to enjoy and to trust me for provision, because I’m gonna be faithful to provide for you.” And that was a whole mental shift for them from a slave mindset and to a place of freedom and owning their identity in God.

And I think for us it’s the same thing. And I’m telling you, I’m terrible at this. I’m getting better. I really am cuz I’m working at it. It’s a spiritual practice for me of the idea, the concept of I can take some time to rest. And as I do this, I’m gonna embrace who I am in God and trust that God is gonna put all the pieces together, and I don’t have to work myself to death or treat myself as a slave. God has given me better than that.

Stepping Out In Faith | Daily Devotional

I was sitting on my porch the other day, and i saw a squirrel run across a telephone wire. normal occurrence, right? Well, this day I saw the whole episode in a different light. I began to think about the squirrels trust for the wire. He didn’t hesitate, he just ran quickly across the wire to get to the tree he was trying to climb. Having the analytical mind that I have, I then wondered if I trusted God as much as this squirrel trusted a telephone wire.

Do I Trust God?

I think my answer is that it depends on the situation and the circumstances of the situation. In some instances it is very easy for me to “run across the wire” that God is calling me to cross. Sometimes it’s because I’ve been across that same wire before. Other times it’s because I can see the tree on the other side so I know exactly how far I have to scamper before I get to the tree. BUT when God is calling me to “run across a wire” that I haven’t been across before I am sometimes hesitant.

What is even harder is when the wire is invisible, and God is calling me to cross the wire and trust that He will be my feet. That is scary! The reality is that intimacy with God involves getting to the place where all the wires are invisible, and we have to trust solely in Him.

Reflect

Do you trust God when He invites you to “go out on a wire” with Him? Why or why not?
Do you have to “see” (aka understand) the “wire” before you will choose to trust God? Why or why not?
What is preventing you from trusting God more?
How can you partner with the Holy Spirit to overcome these roadblocks?
When have you trusted God and found Him faithful?

May we all reach that place where the wires are invisible and we scamper wholeheartedly trusting that He will lead us into glory…

God Takes You From Stressful To Peaceful

There are times in all of our lives where we think God is telling us to do something and so we go ahead and confidently do it.

We go ‘all in’ and say, “OK God, I’m going to do what You say to do.” Things feel good and everything is just ticking along nicely.

Then, in the middle of our new comfort zone, we start feeling like the season is changing and God wants us to do something else.

Uh oh – the solid ground is shifting!

The feeling that something new is coming continues to grow and the more it does, the wobblier we feel…

This is when we begin to ask ourselves questions like

What does this look like?
What do I do now?
Will I be OK in this change?
How do I know if this will work out well?
How do I know what He’s asking me to do?

And they are all legitimate questions. They’re the kind of questions we need answers to in order to know how to go forward well.

The problem is that we typically ask these questions from a place of fear instead of a place of faith – and this is where the rubber meets the road.

Over the years I have faced so many of these scenarios and I’ve learned to feel the Holy Spirit prompting me to come and talk to Him about it, rather than letting the fear fester and get me down.

So, when a coaching client came to me with this scenario the other day, we decided that we would talk it through with God, together.

As we asked Him what was happening, He revealed that the reason we feel wobbly is because we’re not sure we can trust Him in the change.

While we were processing, Proverbs 3:5-6 popped into my mind and He began to unpack those verses in a way I hadn’t seen them before.

He was actually showing us not only the reason she felt wobbly, but how to get back to a state of peace and trust instead. (I love it when He does this!)

Let’s have a look at these gems

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
Pro 3:5-6 (Amp)

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart

The first step in coming back to peace is really just readjusting yourself.

Ask the Lord, “Lord, I think I’m afraid because I’m not sure that I can trust You. Will you show me how I can trust You? What are You doing in these circumstances that is trustworthy? What can I stand on that won’t shift?”

Remind yourself of the promises of His faithfulness that you can stand on. Remind yourself of all the times He has been trustworthy in the past.

And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

When we feel uncertain, we go into self-defense and self-preservation mode and then we try to work it out ourselves.

We start asking ourselves, “What experience do I have that I can walk in? What knowledge do I have that I know I can take advantage of?” We try to figure things out in our own understanding.

And of course, these verses very clear. It says, do not lean on your own understanding, because it’s so limited and we only know a tiny part in comparison to what God knows.

In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him

Once God has shown us how much we can trust Him, something happens that shifts us into the place of realizing that relying on our own insight and understanding isn’t going to get us anywhere.

Then we get to come back to Him and say, “Oh Lord, thank You. I acknowledge You in all of my ways, Lord. You are the One who is always working things out together for my good. You are the one who knows my past and my present and my future and You’re knitting them all together.” And you begin to just acknowledge that He is God and you are not.

And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

We lean back into trusting Him, not relying on our own understanding, and acknowledging that He is God – and now He can make our paths straight and plain.

So often we try to go straight to step number 4.

We try to ask Him, “Lord, where do we go? What do we do? What does it look like?” – but we’ve missed the first 3 steps.

And the first 3 steps are foundational to Him because He wants our relationship with Him to go deeper. He’s not an ATM that just gives ‘answers on demand’ – He is our loving Father.

When we come from that place of deep relationship, then He delights in revealing where we’re going, what we’re doing and how He will look after us through it all.

So, whenever you find the ground shaky beneath you, whenever you find yourself wobbly – just go back to these verses and stand on them and let the Holy spirit take you on a journey of remembering how much your Father loves to walk through life with you.

Trust God

I went to encourage you with my testimony. So, I am free and I’m full of life and joy and all of these things, these amazing things God has given me right now, but that is not where I came from. I came from a very hard and scary past, abusive family, abusive, even religiously. My dad was a pastor and he really used the Word of God and a lot of other things to hurt me. And, my mom was mentally ill because of that. And then they divorced, there was drug addiction in my family. I came and saw all of that, which then led to me at teenage years, being suicidal and I attempted it many times. I was like that all the way up to just recently, a couple years ago, even, I still was struggling.

It wasn’t until I finally knew who my King Jesus really was. It was not so much just knowing about Him. He invited me into His chambers. He literally said that I could sit next to Him, and He spoke for Himself. Because, since I grew up in religion, but it was a lot of abusive things; it wasn’t really God. So, for me to sit in the chambers and Him say, “This is me and I have healing for you, I have life for you, I have joy, and peace,” was amazing!

So now you see me, I do want to live. I have a daughter, that’s three. I’m going to be married 10 years. And I am just fiercely, and courageously, and bravely just seeking out God and my purpose and destiny. And I know that there’s a reason that I’m here. From being suicidal to that; that is just the testimony of my life.

I hope that encourages you if you’re in that place, or if you’re coming out of that place. There is hope. Be patient in your healing. There is that healing time. So be patient in the healing; He has so much for you. He has so much in store for you. He has beautiful, beautiful visions, bigger than yours. So just trust Him with your life. He can turn it around fast, just like He did with me.

Trust The Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of my favorite verses. And it really is that way because it gives us a pattern of how to live life. You know, God is not a God of steps, but he is a God of systems. He loves to give us structures to follow. So Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all of your ways and he will make your paths straight and plain.” So often we go to God and we say, “God, just tell me what to do,” and He’s going, “Go back and read Proverbs 3:5-6.” Let’s break it down into the four pieces.

The first piece is, “Trust the Lord with all of your heart.” When we come to God with this posture of going, “Dad, I trust you for the good. I trust that you love me. I trust that your heart is for me, that you want good things for my life.” Can you just feel when we say that, how our hearts gets soft and we come from a place of like, I’m not demanding an answer from God, I’m not fearful, but I’m coming from a place where I’m saying to my heart, you can trust God. When we take that first step and say, trust God, the next step is “and lean, not on your own understanding.” When we realize that because we trust God, we don’t have to lean on our own understanding, it really helps us to go, “Wow, I get to thank God for my brain and the way I think, but I don’t have to do this by myself.” So we’ve got a posture of heart that’s trust. And then we say, “God, I don’t have to try and rely on myself.”

The next step is “Acknowledge him in all of your ways,” because our heart is so engaged with him. Now we get to go, “God, thank you that you’re thinking on my behalf. Thank you that you’re thinking as big, you’re helping you want me to go through this with you.” Then we get excited about the fact that God is going to do the fourth part of the verse, which is, “and He will lead you and make all of your parts straight and plain.” Isn’t that the most beautiful promise that from this place of trust, we get to say, “Wow, I trust you, God. I don’t have to do this by myself. And because I’m bringing you in on this and asking you for help, you will lead me and you will show me which way to go.” Isn’t that such a much more beautiful place to come from rather than “God, I need an answer and I need it now,” coming from a place of fear and demanding. As we have this posture of heart, as we understand that God loves us and wants to lead as well, that is how He’s able to give us the answers and show us step by step, how He chooses for us to go.

Lord, thank you so much for the opportunity to be able to come to you and ask you what you’re thinking, how you’re feeling, how we get to partner with you. It is the most beautiful thing to do. Thank you that you show each one of us, how to engage with you in each passage and piece of life, as we’re asking for your direction, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Obeying God While In The Hallway Of Transition

Transitioning into a new season and acquiring the promises of God can be extremely frustrating. Transition requires patience, faith, and trust in God that you’re moving in the right direction for your life. Transition is like walking through a very long hallway (you may feel like you’ve been stuck in this place for a long time) going from one end of the hallway to the other. We all know what goes on in the hallways of life, your mind starts playing tricks on you. You start having conversations with yourself, “I can’t go back to the old things because I’ve fought too hard to be where I am now, but moving forward is such a challenge because I don’t know where I’m going.” Transition is weird, scary, awkward, and uncomfortable but it’s only for a season until you make it to the other side, and you’re almost there.

Have you been struggling to hear from God about your next steps? Are you trying to guess what God is doing in your life? Welcome to the club! I’m starting to realize God is being very secretive about what He’s doing in this season. I’ve had a couple of dreams over the past few weeks where I’ve found myself saying, “What’s going on, nobody tells me anything? Or, I’m in a facility with other people waiting for something to begin and I notice I’m underdressed. Everyone else is dolled up or decked out, but I look like plain Jayne. In the dreams, I know I’m where I’m supposed to be but whatever is going to take place is going to happen unexpectedly and without my interference. I believe there are a couple of reasons why God is being so secretive.

God is protecting our promises. If God was to let us in on everything he is doing and release the full blueprint of what is to take place in our lives, we would run ahead of God. Instead of partnering with Him, we would probably disrupt the plans he has for us in this season. The other reason I believe God is being so secretive is, if Satan knew the blueprint for our lives, you better believe he will sabotage and destroy every good thing God has in store for us.

So what should you do in the hallway of transition?

The short answer is “Obey God.” God has been speaking to me about doing the very last things he told me to do. We are so quick to move on to the next big thing that God has for us, but we haven’t put in enough time and energy to manage or complete the last assignment he gave us. God will not move on to the next thing until He is satisfied with your obedience to the task that He previously gave you. If you don’t remember what that was, ask Him. God repeats himself over and over in an area that we are responsible for until we get!

Just recently, I obeyed God in an area of my life that he was repeating himself in. God wanted me to commit myself to music ministry. This was an area that I was hurt in and was not going to be bothered with anymore. God would not let it go. He wanted me to commit myself to this particular group and finally, I did. When I obeyed God, musical opportunities opened up for me. Praise God!

If you have already obeyed God in the areas that he has assigned you to, praise God! Keep your focus on Him and continue to do what He says. If God tells you to write a book, start a youtube channel, go back to school, give someone $25, DO IT! Partnering with God means we obey whatever it is He tells us to do whether we feel like it or not, and especially when it doesn’t make any sense. It’s our obedience to God that determines how long we stay in the hallway of transition.

Relentless Woman, Pray And Trust God

I know it’s hard when things around you don’t seem to go the way you planned. Everything seems to be way out of your control, and you don’t know what to do anymore. But let remind you again, woman of God, that this is just the right moment to pray and trust God all the more.

It’s easier to trust God when we see what lies ahead. But what if you can’t see ahead into the unknown? Will you still trust Him? How do you respond amidst fear and uncertainty?

Uncertainty

Most people are scared of uncertainties. Perhaps it’s the reason why many people today are suffering from anxiety and depression—especially when the situation is overwhelming. And it feels like the struggle never ends. If you are one of those people, then this message is for you.

It’s hard when we lose confidence in a brighter future. But it’s even harder when people around you discourage you. No one seems to support and believe in you, and you feel all alone in this battle. But you are not alone. Long before these people discouraged you and long before you were caught up with your unpleasant circumstances, God already had a promise for you.

Trust God

It was the LORD who promised the Israelites in Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

And He is that same God who has greater plans for your life—plans of prosperity, hope, and a future. So, the next time you start to worry about many things, remind yourself of His promises. Learn to respond in prayer amidst adversity and trust His Word. Trust me. You can never go wrong with it. You can do this, relentless woman!
