Choose To Stay Planted
Who’s Your Counsel?
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.” (Psalm 1:1)
Consider who you are taking advice from and who you are listening to. In critical situations and life transforming moments who’s advice are you weighing in your heart? Are you listening to the ungodly and following after their way? Or are you submitting to God’s Word and choosing to follow after Christ.
Our actions and responses during hard and challenging times must reflect God’s Way of doing things. Choose to seek God in all times — especially during critical times. Choose to stay planted in God’s Word.
Blessed, Happy, fortunate and prosperous is the man who chooses to walk and follow after the path and advice of the righteous.
Delight In The Word
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.” (Psalms 1:2)
It’s your choice to either delight in God’s Word or forsake it. When you delight and meditate in and on something, you choose to surround your self with it continually. When you delight in the Word of God you’re choosing to keep your mind focused on His Way of doing things.
His Word has the answers if you allow yourself to meditate and dwell upon it. Seek God and He’ll give you His answers. Submit your will to His Will and He will direct your path.
Fruit In His Season
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper..” (Psalms)
When you stay planted, you are rooted by God’s Word. You are rooted in what He says about you. When you choose to root yourself in His Word your leaf will not wither in harsh seasons and whatsoever you touch will prosper.
Choose to plant yourself and be nourished by God’s Word instead of your emotions. Don’t allow the situations of life to dictate and direct your path. Choose to use the Word of God to dictate and direct your world. Shape your world by His Word.
The Chaff
“The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.” (Psalms 1:4)
The success of the ungodly is like the chaff in the wind. Here one day and gone the next. The success of the ungodly is not sustainable. The ungodly are driven away by every wind of doctrine, as the tough times come they are shaped by the times and not by the Word of God.
When challenging times come the ungodly are not rooted nor planted by God’s Word — they are blown away when things around them change. It is your decision to submit your heart to the Word of God or be blown away by the wind.
The Ungodly vs The Righteous
“Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.” (Psalms 1:5)
The ungodly are those who love their lives after the world’s standards. They (the ungodly) choose not to follow after God nor do they regard His Sovereignty. They are planted by their own philosophies and self proclaimed religion. They choose not to seek God nor give their heart over to Him. They war against God and His Word directly and indirectly. Their ways and steps are not ordered by Him, they choose to follow their own way and war against God’s instruction. God’s Righteous are those who seek and submit themselves to His Ways. Choose to follow God’s Way of doing things.
Relationship With God
“For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish..” (Psalms 1:6)
God has an intimate relationship with the righteous. Those who follow after His Way will reap His increase. When you shape your path to pursue God’s Word, He will lead and establish your footsteps. When your heart is aligned to His Word He will steer your ship.
When your heart belongs to Him you will not fail. When you are in Christ, your ways are orchestrated by the Lord. When you follow Him, He will not lead you astray. Even in tough times choose to follow Him.
