A mother with ALS shares a beautiful dance moment with her son on his wedding day that moved everyone to tears.
Loving Mom With ALS And Her Son
Zak Poirier studied law school when his mom, Kathy, was diagnosed with ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a condition wherein a person loses their muscle control. Hence, Kathy had to be in a wheelchair because she couldn’t move her hands and feet. She lost control of her whole body, thus, losing her ability to walk. But even with that, it didn’t stop her from dancing with her son on his wedding day.
A wedding ceremony is one of the most remarkable moments and once in a lifetime events of a person. For that reason, one would naturally desire to have both of their parents to be present on that special day. That is why, despite Kathy’s condition, she showed up on her son’s wedding day.
Captured Tear-jerking Moment
In a video shared by Uplifting Stories on YouTube, the tear-jerking moment of the mother-and-son in Orlando, Florida, was captured. When the part of the mother-son traditional dance came up during the wedding, it moved everyone to tears. Wearing a beautiful dress as the groom’s mom, her sons pushed her wheelchair to the center of the wedding venue. Then they carried her so she could hug her son and dance with him to the song “Humble and Kind.” It also brought the groom to tears.
Further, the video touched the hearts of thousands as Zak, her son, took to social media the heartwarming scene.
“Since that time,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’ve watched her bravely fight her diagnosis and challenge the odds against her. Despite not being able to stand on her own, my Mom and I shared a dance at my wedding.”
Indeed, a beautiful moment watching such great love between a mother and a son. Watch and be blessed!
