This woman testified God’s goodness by sharing her story about how she was healed from migraines.
Migraines
Kate McClure started getting migraines in 2012. She would lie in her bed with no lights and couldn’t talk because of the pain. One time, when they were having a girl’s night, one of her friends prayed for her. “I had already had a migraine starting to come on, and she prayed for me and immediately left, and then I did not have another one,” Kate recalled. She didn’t experience another headache until 2016.
She and her family went on snowboarding and she crashed and injured her head. Because of the snowboarding accident, she had a serious whiplash. When she was finally recovered and went for a run she got a migraine again. “I felt hopeless every time a migraine would come on. The anxiety would come on with it,” she shared. She would hear lies and feel hopeless. Kate admitted that it was also a lonely season because she couldn’t be around people when she had migraines.
“I was sick from this migraine like over the toilet, and I said, God, I need to know that you are here right now,” she recalled. Her beliefs were challenged because of what she experienced. “I had asked the Lord, I said what’s the root of this, and He told me, ‘stress’,” she said. At the time Kate was a worship pastor and she had put a lot of pressure on herself.

Going through the Healing Process
Kate made some changes to her daily routine. She decided to spend the first hour of the day with God – reading the Bible or worshipping Him. She focused on the Lord and chose to lean into the Holy Spirit. “And the Lord taught me. He said you can’t push out stress. But you can invite peace and rest. And He said anxiety and stress is the absence of peace and rest,” Kate said. Throughout the process of finding rest, God miraculously healed the migraines.
God’s goodness became so real in Kate’s life. “His goodness is for us through everything,” Kate concluded.
