Prayer

Lord, today I seek your guidance as I read Proverbs 16:12, which reminds me of the power of pleasant words. Just as a honeycomb brings sweetness to the soul and health to the bones, may my words be a balm to those who hear them.

Teach me to use my tongue wisely, for it holds the ability to build up or tear down, to encourage or discourage. May my speech be seasoned with kindness and grace, reflecting the very essence of Your love. Help me be mindful of my words’ impact on others, understanding that they possess the power to bring healing and restoration to wounded hearts.

May my words be as a sweet honeycomb, bringing comfort, joy, and strength to all who partake of them. May they testify to Your goodness and grace, drawing others closer to You. Amen.

10 Declarations For Releasing Hope & Building Faith

The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 18:21 that the “power of life and death” is in our tongue! This means that God has given us the ability to speak words of life or death to our situation, circumstances, and environment. In short, this is especially important as we experience the effects of coronavirus across the globe.

Making Declarations

As believers, it’s time we use our words to speak life over our neighborhoods, cities, countries, and world. Join the Body of Christ in making these declarations written by Steve Backlund of Igniting Hope Ministries today:

1. My prayers are powerful and effective

James 5:16 – “...The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

2. God richly supplies all my needs

Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

3. I walk in ever-increasing health

Psalm 103:1-3 – “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases…”

Isaiah 53:5 – “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”

4. I live under supernatural protection

Psalm 91:1-2 – “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

7. I declare peace over the raging waters in my mind, emotions, body, and family. I say, “Peace, be still” to each of these areas of my life

Mark 4:39 – “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”

8. I speak to every mountain of discouragement, stress, depression, and lack, and cast it into the sea in Jesus’ name

Mark 11:22-24 – “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

9. I speak to this day, and I call you blessed. I declare I serve a mighty God who today will do exceedingly and abundantly beyond all that I can ask or think.

Ephesians 3:20 – “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,”

10. I expect that today will be the best day of my life spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and financially in Jesus’ name.

Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Standing On The Promise Of God

Matthew 18:19 – “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”

Let’s join together as the Body of Christ and continue to declare the truth of Heaven over the earth. It’s time to rise up and live our lives as believing believers!

Jesus Always Responded To The Spirit Behind The Words Of A Person

Jesus listened to the words spoken by others but His answers were for or against the spirit. When Peter announced that He was the Son of God Jesus responded in the affirmative. The same Peter a few minutes later said Jesus would not die on the Cross and Jesus rebuked Him for saying it and blamed Satan for it.How does the same person manifest God’s word and Satan’s word? This is possible when we know that both God and Satan are at work. This is why our tongue is a powerful agent to bless or to curse. We determine who will use us. This maybe an admonition to us to watch what we say. We have the authority on earth to curse or to bless.

I remember at one prayer meeting in Dundee that I cursed the night club beside the church. Six months later it got burned down but the church was spared. I still am amazed that it happened! When we walk in the Spirit, evil will come against us but we have the authority over every serpent and scorpion to crush it under our feet. In these days of turmoil we need to bless what is good and curse the things that God hates. This may sound drastic but the Kingdom of God suffers violence and we have to take it by force by praying in the Spirit.

Identifying the spirit behind the words is easy when we choose to walk in the Spirit. Our responses will be in the Spirit. This is how Jesus confused the religious in His day. They just were paralysed in their responses as He bound the spirit that was talking through them. All they could do was to scheme to kill Him. The devil always is in the business of stealing, killing and destruction.Therefore we know that gossip and slander is of the devil. Anything God hates we must hate, like killing babies and euthanasia. This is not an opinion but standing on God’s revealed will. We must stand for justice and righteousness and be the salt and light where He has planted us.

Walking In The Limitless Power Of God

God is all powerful and is the Creator and we are His creation. We think we have a lot of power but this power is matchless compared to God’s power. He spoke and the world was created. All that we see was created by Him through His spoken word. Imagine how powerful were His words. Nothing could stand in the way of His word. We too can speak and see things change. This is why God has commanded us to be careful of what we say. Our words have the power to bless or to curse. What we hear around us can break us or build us up. In the world we hear a lot of negative words because the god of this world is Satan. Only we have authority on earth to reverse the words of the devil.

The Power Of God Through Words

God reversed our words at Pentecost. He gave us a new tongue. This is the tongue of the Spirit. When we pray in tongues we release God’s power on earth as it is in heaven. We receive revelation in our mind of what God is thinking and saying. In this way we are able to think and speak like God. When we speak from the Spirit, we speak like God. This is how Jesus spoke. He had the authority of heaven behind Him when He spoke. Sickness and disease had to go as He spoke. The limitless power of God was behind His words. We too can do the same.

Authority

We can shift atmospheres as we speak from the Spirit. We have the tools to operate in the Spirit. We cannot move an inch without the power of God. In our own strength we will move a bit but in God’s strength we will move mountains. God’s limitless power is available to us when we come to the end of our power. This is why we need to operate in the Spirit to see the world turned upside down. The disciples were known to have done this and we can do the same. The same resurrection power is available to us who believe. Come let us walk in the resurrection power of Jesus and be done with walking in our own power.

What You Speak From The Spirit Brings Life

Our words have power to bless or to curse. Very few are aware that we are spirit beings made in the image of God. God spoke and created all things we see in the physical realm. He also created all things we don’t see in the spiritual realm. They are both real. He spoke things into being. We have the same authority when we speak. However most of us are not careful in what we say. Most of us speak from our soul realm and therefore only affect the soul of another. When we speak from the spirit realm we affect both the spirit realm and the physical realm. This is a profound revelation and those who understand this will be more careful how we speak.

Spoken Word

The centurion believed Jesus when He said your servant is healed. Jesus spoke and the centurion believed and his servant was healed. Jesus did not do anything but speak. He said we have the same authority to speak the healing word and that word will go forth and bring healing. The Angels are prepared to take that spoken word and bring it into action. This is what prayer does. We pray according to His will and the Angels are activated to do His will. We can speak to our bodies to be in health. We can speak to our situations to be transformed on earth as it is in heaven. Authority releases the power to bring heaven to earth.

Authority

How few of us operate in this authority! If the church realised what authority she has on earth, we will not see the same chaos we are faced with today. God is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God. We are the sons of God. We need to take our place and be the head and not the tail. When we conform to the world’s standards, we become like the world. We are called to be separate from the world and be an influence in the world. We do this by speaking from the spirit realm to change things on earth as light and salt of the earth. What a mission we have on earth as we wait for the return of our King and Lord. Let us go forth and speak His word of life that all may see and believe.

Relentless Woman, Your Words Are Powerful

The word of God tells us that words are powerful, and we should be careful of every word we say.

Don’t Take Words Lightly

The Bible describes the power of our words in Proverbs 18:21. It said, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

This proverb from Solomon was a warning of how we use our words because every word that comes out of our mouth has the power to speak life or death. And no one is excepted to its consequences. Perhaps that is why Paul the Apostle advised the church of Ephesus to be careful with their words. He said in Ephesians 4:29, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Paul stressed not to let unwholesome talk reign. But instead, use words that were helpful to build others.

Every Careless Word

Moreover, Jesus also warned about it in Matthew 12:36 when the Pharisees accused him. He taught the people, “But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Note that Jesus highlighted that we will one day face judgment for “every carless word” we have spoken, for we would be accountable for every word that comes out from our mouth.

That is why relentless woman, take Jesus’ teaching seriously and be careful with your words. Let everything that comes out of your mouth be life, encouragement, and anything that will build others. Do not let the world dictate the words you say, and focus on being accountable to God with everything in your life. Your words are powerful, so don’t be a nagger. Instead, use it to lift and encourage other people.

4-Year-Old Girl’s 3 Simple Words Proves God’s Existence

When a mom doubted God’s existence, her 4-year-old daughter’s three simple words proved her wrong.

Doubting God’s existence

Brie Gowen is a devout Christian and a mom of two young kids. She has always believed that God is real and has always loved the Lord. However, there were moments in her life when her mind challenges the existence of God.

“It’s that supremely logical part of your brain that might jump up unexpectedly and whisper, ‘does He really exist. Are you sure,’” she wrote in her blog.

This does happen oftentimes but her doubtful thought would be immediately dismissed by her faith. One day, while her 4-year-old daughter was watching the television, she sat beside her and prayed to the Lord. As she was praying, she again doubted God’s existence. But after doubt passed in her mind, she prayed that God would speak to her heart.

“I’m sorry, Lord. I don’t know why I doubt, but I know I love you,” Brie prayed silently. “Please speak to my heart in a special way, and pour out your Holy Spirit upon me today.”

4-year-old’s words

Brie was then reminded of a verse she read before.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” -Hebrews 11:1

In just a few minutes since she asked God to speak to her heart, God answered her prayer through her 4-year-old daughter.

“Suddenly, and out of nowhere, my 4-year-old spoke, ‘God is really real,’” she recalled.

The astonished mom then asked her daughter how did she know. The young girl’s three-word answer proved Brie’s doubts wrong and proved that God is real.

“I just know,” the young girl answered.

“I just know”

Those three words spoke to Brie’s heart. He is real because we just know. And we know that He is real because of His great love for us.

“That all-consuming love language tells me He is real. So when doubt tries to come, my spirit laughs in a tiny, musical voice, and it says, ‘I just know.’ I just know. And after His truth came out of my 4-year-old’s mouth, I don’t think I’ll ever doubt again.”

40 Day Challenge Day #18 – Power Of Words

Jesus’ words reflected the purity of His heart and demonstrated Heaven on Earth. What do your words say about your heart? How much of Heaven’s values and culture are displayed in what you say?

What does the Bible say about words?

There is power in our speech to bring life or destruction, the positive or the negative. (Psalm 34: 11-13, Proverbs 13:3, Proverbs 15:4 and James 3:3-12). What we say to or about ourselves or others has a massive effect for good or ill.

Most believers accept this teaching but sadly only a very small number practice what they preach. Let your words be a firm yes or no. Anything else comes from the evil one (Matthew 5: 37).

It’s a heart matter

This is not simply about external behavioral adjustment but an internal transformation. The words of our mouth are the overflow of our heart. Is this uncomfortable for you?

James 1:26 – If someone believes they have a relationship with God but fail to guard their words, then their heart is drifting away and his religion is shallow.

Purity of speech comes from purity of heart and mind. This is part of the ongoing process of sanctification.
It inevitably includes repentance, forgiveness and discipline. Talk to Holy Spirit about starting a journey with Him around this whole issue.

Words have power

Often the most damage done by our words is to ourselves. It can cause depression, low self-esteem, self-dislike, fear and stunts us from being who we were made to be. This is a form of self-harming!

What negativity do you regularly speak over yourself? You may need to forgive yourself and begin declaring the affirming words of Jesus over you every day. Do it until you actually believe it. It is helpful to create and declare a list of some of these life giving words found in the Bible.

Jesus’ offer

Jesus offers us complete healing and freedom from this crippling tendency and situation. He can release us into a dynamic new way of living and speaking. Accept His offer, make the exchange – you won’t regret it! Let Holy Spirit lead you in this.

Speaking words of life from our heart and mouth is a fabulous way to bring honour to God and impact to our world. This is what followers of Jesus are asked and commissioned to do!

Authority: The Power of Your Words In Government

Over the last several weeks we have taken a look at the power of your words when they are employed in six of seven spheres of society. This includes business, celebration, education, faith, family, and media. In this final week, we will take a look at the power of your words when they impact the mountain of government. When it comes to government, words can make a difference in the lives of millions of people. Governments frame territory, establish laws that order society, and take authority. They designate strategies for protecting those who are citizens from those who are enemies. And governments establish relations with other nations and governments that have common interests or mutual interests.

Jesus’ Authority

The Bible gives a clear indication that in the establishment of the heavens and the earth, He used words to frame it all. And He said it was good. God created humanity in His image and likeness to rule, subdue, and have dominion in the earth. He did this as a representation of Him in the earth, even as He is in heaven. Governments often exemplify this through declarations, decrees, treatises, proclamations, and oaths.

The governing authority of Jesus is so amazing. He exemplified for us the degree to which the authority of our words were capable. He not only commanded his disciples and gave them authority to heal the sick, bind, loose, and cast out demons. He modeled the authority to command the very winds and waves. In that, he showed us that we can command atmospheres, situations, and circumstances.

We Have Authority

We are people of representations of authority under the authority of God. And we have the ability through our words to call in to order things that are out of order. We also bring peace in places where there is no peace and take captive things that have been allowed to run wild. Or set free that which has been confined or bound.

When you are called to the mountain of government, your word is precise and unwavering. In His sermon on the mount, Jesus told those who were listening that they must be people who keep their promises. This requires honesty, transparency, and integrity.

When your calling is the mountain of government, you also pursue wisdom. For without wisdom, governing becomes quite difficult. Wisdom enables people to make decisions and judgments justly and temper that justice with mercy. When God asked King Solomon what he desired, he could have asked for anything, yet chose wisdom (2 Chronicles 1:8-10).

Final Words

In 1st Kings, the account says that Solomon asked for a discerning heart (1 Kings 3:7-9). There can be no doubt that wisdom and discernment go together. With them together, the ability to govern, command, to make a covenant or an oath become sure and more sound.

When we the power of our words we not careless with the words we use. For we know they have the power and mighty in God, to the pulling down of strongholds. Many in God’s Kingdom understand that our authority is in part, rooted in our authority through intercession. Our warfare is spiritual, not of natural means (see 2 Corinthians 10). So, those of us who are called to the mountain of government must not be loose with our words. Nor should we be arrogant either. Our words must reflect the nature of God. As we do this, we will begin to manifest more of the order of heaven in the earth. This is the power of our words.

The Power Of Words In Business

ThereWords affect business and it’s important to explore how the power of words affect business. The mountain of business is the place where transactions are made. It is the place where people “occupy until He comes” (Luke 19:13). As people occupy their place upon the mountain of business, in whatever capacity that may be, it is imperative to keep in mind that there is power in our words.

In business, it matters that we keep our word. It is how we keep our “good name“. For example, the writer of Proverbs 22 was the understanding that a good name is more desirable than riches. Your name is your credit and is priceless when you honor others by being one who keeps his word. It’s why we are encouraged to let our “yes be yes and our no be no” (Matthew 5:37).

Business contracts bind us to our words. They help us uphold our end of an agreement. Contracts are beneficial for everyone involved. When one party fails to uphold their end everyone loses. The power of our words in business I the means by which we can reflect God’s covenant agreement with His creation. He never breaks His end of the agreement. Therefore, as Christians, we can show forth glory when we honor our agreements with others.

Vision and mission

In business, one of the most powerful things that exists is a business’s mission and vision statement. For in them are the foundational promises of what the owner/creator had in mind as a promise of how they intend to make an impact on the community. Businesses have a great ability to shape a nation by creatively conceiving and manifesting the abundance of God through work, envisioning city growth and maximizing potential of the available resources. When vision is cast and written, it can plainly be seen by those who are a part of that business. They commit their word to see it through by working in tandem with that vision to sit it to fruition.

When God’s people, on the mountain of business imagine greatness and speak that vision, the power of their words give an earthly example of the beginning process of creation as God Himself created the heavens and the earth. When God’s people, with integrity cast a vision, encourage those who labor among them, and empower them with every resource to bring that vision to pass, they are bringing glory to God through it all.

Words have weight

In business, words have weight and hold value. God is raising up many to take their place upon the mountain of business to restore integrity to it. Part of that integrity is rooted in ethical decision making in how employees are treated, how the communities where they operate make use of the resources, and abide by laws rather than seeking to exploit them through unrighteousness.

Let your words bring life by speaking with integrity, honoring promises, and keeping them. Let the words of vision inspire a community to build and grow and multiply, even as God called us to. Seek to bring glory to the mountain of business by recognizing the power of your words.
