A worried mother found her sick son reading the Bible while experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, a deadly disease.
As a mother, we all worry about the health of our young ones. Even the slightest of fevers could make us stay awake all night just to make sure they will be perfectly fine the next day. That is what a mother’s love looks like. Especially during this season of uncertainty because of the coronavirus, a lot of mothers are being extra mindful of their children’s health.
When her son Titus showed symptoms of COVID-19, Joy Mendoza was worried and did her best to make sure her son would be okay. Together with her husband, she prayed earnestly for the safety of their son.
When Joy was about to check on her son again, what she saw next made her realize something great. The mother of six saw her sick child reading the Bible.
“During one of the moments when I went to check his temperature, I saw him reading his Bible,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “The [sight] of him faithfully spending time with the Lord ministered to me.”

Titus then shared the passage that he was reading to his mother – Psalms 103:8. He then explained that the verse was assuring him that “God will take care of” him.
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness.” –Psalms 103:8
It was at that time that Joy learned something very powerful – that it’s more important to be concerned about her children’s spiritual health.
“Sometimes, I worry about my kids because of Covid19, (and it can be about other battles they may face in life), but God’s reminder to me through Titus is that it’s more important for me to be concerned about my children’s spiritual health. Do they really know Jesus? Do they have a personal relationship with him? If they do, no matter what happens to them, they will be okay. They have the greatest security…eternal security,” she added.
Thankfully, Titus became well the following morning. His oxygen level went back to normal and his fever was all gone. Indeed, God is taking care of His precious son.
