Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer shared a message about worry, saying that “worry is pride.. and God does not want us to be independent” from Him.
Worry Is Pride
People worry about many things. Whether that may be about career, finances, provision, or other necessities in life.

Every day, many are tempted to worry and strive to solve their problems on their own. We tend to overthink things, becoming stressed, tired, and downcast. But what does God say about these things?
In an Instagram post, Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer shared a message about worry. She talked about the implications that worrying brings to a person. She remarked that “worry is pride.”
“You know why? Because really it’s me saying ‘If I think about this long enough, I can solve my own problem. I’m going to find the answer to this,’” the author explained.
Be Dependent To God
Joyce shared the heart of God about such an issue and advised what a person should do when it creeps in.
“God does not want us to be independent,” she said. “He wants us to be dependent. So, the first thing that He needs to hear when we have a problem is, ‘God, I have a problem. And I know that I am not smart enough to solve it without Your help. So, please help me. And if there’s something You want me to do, show me what it is. And if You want me to just wait on You to do something, then help me be patient and wait.’”
KRISTA DEAREY’S MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS: ‘GETTING HURT IS INEVITABLE. STAYING OFFENDED IS A CHOICE’
Further, Jesus also taught His disciples in Matthew 6:25-34 not to worry. In fact, His instruction in verse 33 was to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Then Jesus concluded his message, saying, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
We can trust Jesus to help us when we face problems!
