Wuhan Christians Preach Gospel On Streets Amidst Novel Coronavirus Outbreak

Christians in Wuhan, China, still preach the Gospel on the streets despite novel coronavirus outbreak and government persecutions.

Christian witnesses are openly sharing their faith at the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China. They are not only risking their lives from being contaminated by the deadly virus, but they are also risking their selves from being persecuted by Chinese authorities.

Despite the national crisis, the persecutions of the Christians from the Communist government of China are still severe. Openly talking about Christian beliefs is illegal under the Communist government.

Christians sharing the gospel

But bold Christians are taking advantage of the need for surgical masks. To prevent contracting the virus, and also to hide their identities from the authorities while they share the Gospel. A group of Chinese Christians is also giving away masks with a Gospel tract to the public.

“There are Christians, a ministry in Wuhan, they go out to the streets. They’re very courageous,” CBN News Asia Correspondent Lucille Talusan said. “They give out masks and they say that they are Christians and they share the love of Christ and point to Jesus to bring hope to them and their families and the whole of China… This is really a break-through.”

Father Francis Liu from the Chinese Christian Fellowship of Righteousness shared a video of encouraging sermons being played on speakers for the community to hear.

Novel Coronavirus outbreak

The total number of people affected by the novel coronavirus is now 40,770 worldwide. And 40,170 of those patients come from China. The death toll now also surpassed the SARS outbreak in 2003 as novel coronavirus has already killed 910 people as of today.

As the crisis heightens, people in China are now more receptive to the Word of God and the Gospel of Christ. They are conquering their fear and uncertainty with their faith in the Lord.

Call for prayer

Christians around the world are urged to pray for those who were affected by the outbreak. Let us claim the victory and healing through Christ over this virus.

China still bans Christians from holding religious funerals despite the rising death toll due to coronavirus.

Religious funerals

A law reads, “get rid of bad funeral customs and establish a scientific, civilized, and economical way of funerals.”

Additionally, “clerical personnel are not allowed to participate in funerals.” Also, “No more than ten family members of the deceased are allowed to read scriptures or sing hymns in a low voice.”

Persecution even after death

Despite the number of deaths from coronavirus, the CCP continued to tighten its grip on all Christians. In Wuhan, where the virus started, Christians are experiencing persecution – even during a funeral!

The woman’s daughter was arrested and taken to jail. Police raided the funeral and arrested her daughter as she prayed for her mother.

The authorities also raided a Christian funeral in the province of Henan.

When my father died, village officials threatened to arrest us if we didn’t conduct a secular funeral. We did not dare to go against them,” a villager said. “My father had been a believer for several decades. He is persecuted even after death.”

Christian persecution

The persecution is part of the CCP’s campaign to bring religion into unity with the Communist culture. In previous years, the government has strengthened its battle against religion by taking down Churches and burning crosses and Bibles.

It is time for all Christian across the world, to pray for our brothers and sisters in China. Let’s join in praying that the Lord would bring a great revival to China!

86-Year-Old Retired Doctor Went Back To Hospital To Treat Wuhan Coronavirus Patients

An 86-year-old retired doctor from Wuhan, China went back to the hospital despite the outbreak of contagious Wuhan coronavirus in order to help treat the increasing number of infected people in his hometown.

According to The Summit Express, Professor Dong had already been retired for several years. Dr. Dong is currently in a wheelchair because he can’t stand up and walk. However, when the coronavirus crisis hit the city, he didn’t hesitated to volunteer. Despite knowing the threat of being affected by the contagious virus too, he went back to work. Volunteering in the hospital could mean his won death but the 86-year-old was fearless.

Retired Wuhan Doctor Hailed As Hero

For that reason, Professor Dong was hailed a hero for his selfless act.

Some travelers from the city were also said to have been infected making things worse, because the virus spread across other parts of China and even to other parts of the world.

As a result, hospitals in Wuhan, China overflowed with patients. To the point that patients had to share beds. Doctors and nurses were overworked and under extreme stress. And all those who are in the hospital, including nurses, doctors and staffs are at risk of the deadly virus too.

But despite hearing how those who volunteered were infected and some had collapsed from fatigue, Dr. Dong decided to help no matter what. He then went to Wuhan Children’s Hospital “where he served as pediatrician for decades” reports The Summit Express.

And although the elderly doctor is in a wheelchair, he worked tirelessly to treat his young patients. Of course, the doctors with him were grateful of his presence. Ever since Wuhan was locked down on Thursday, January 23, Dr. Dong has been treating more than 30 patients a day.

The good doctor is trying his best to save as many lives as many as possible without any regard to his own life. He put others’ lives above his own, even if that meant also putting his own life in danger.

Kudos to Doctor Dong and the several medical professionals who never gave up to save the infected patients. Let us include them in our prayers.
