A woman decides to donate her kidney to a stranger praying for a perfect match donor. And now she credits God for orchestrating everything, “Perfect stranger, perfect match, perfect God.”
Asking For Prayers And Looking For A Kidney Donor
In December 2021, New Jersey man Roy McIntosh’s health condition wasn’t looking good. Doctors told him he needed a kidney transplant to survive his illness. But receiving organ donation is almost impossible within a short period of time. Hence, Roy’s wife, Toshira, responded in the way she knew how—to ask for prayer.
Toshira posted a prayer request on a Christian Facebook page. She wrote, “Please pray for my husband that God sends a type B+ living kidney donor to him. We believe in God for a miracle. Please pray for him.”
That’s when Heather from Texas read the post and felt convicted to be her husband’s answered prayer.
“I read the message and thought, ‘That’s for me,'” the military wife recounted. “Somehow I just knew I had a part to play. So, I messaged the lady about 30 minutes later and wrote, ‘I am B+ [blood type] and I’d like to look into if I can donate my kidney.'”
A Perfect Match
Although Toshira felt it was impossible, she still tried and accepted the stranger’s kindness.
“What are the odds that a Caribbean man in New Jersey and a woman from Scotland living in Texas would even find one another, let alone be compatible?” she said.
Then after several months of going through matching tests, the results revealed that Heather and Roy were miraculously a perfect match. So, Roy and Heather underwent a kidney transplant following the results.
And today, after successfully recovering from the surgery, Heather and Roy’s family met in an emotional moment.
“We love Heather and we are forever grateful,” Roy said.
And meanwhile, Heather credits God for orchestrating everything. She remarked, “Perfect stranger, perfect match, perfect God.”
Praise God! Indeed, nothing is impossible with Him!
