The meaning of life. Everyone searches for it. But how do we find it?
God provides the answers in His Word. The way to attain this is by knowing who you are.
Who are you, who am I?
Sometimes this is a huge struggle. For me, it was more a question of “who does everyone want me to be”, and that’s where I found my identity. So why was I so unhappy, depressed, and afraid for most of my life? I was looking for meaning in the world, in man. It was the wrong place to look.
The only one who truly knows me, is God, the one who created me. He is the one I should have been asking, who am I?
Where is the meaning?
I finally did, about 3 years ago. And guess what? Jesus told me I was beautiful. Jesus told me I was strong. He told me I didn’t have to do anything to be loved. Once I began to believe who the Lord said I was, the more I began to understand the meaning of life… to love and be loved. So simple, yet so profound. After all, Jesus says in John 10:10:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 NASB)
Jesus died so that we could live in the fullness of life. In Him, we find our true selves. And in Him, we find the meaning of life.
