The Message And Power Of The Holy Cross
The Message And Power Of The Holy Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18 – “For the message of the cross is foolishness for those who are perishing, but for us who are being saved, it is the power of God

Romans 1:16 – “I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is the power of God to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles

By dying daily, picking up our cross and following Jesus Christ at all times, we are made children of God. The message of the cross which is one with the holy gospel of Christ prepares us for eternal life in the presence of God the Father. The holy gospel and the message of the cross are inseparable when it comes to obtaining salvation through the power of God.

Jesus Christ is the good shepherd who did not even keep back His own life but offered it as a living sacrifice for His sheep. He stands today as the sacrificial lamb that takes away the sins of all the faithful and gives them eternal life. You can benefit from this eternal life by learning how to repent and obeying the key teachings of Jesus Christ.

The cross is the marching order for Christians that brings peace, love, joy, happiness, and everlasting life with God. The cross marks the beginning of the New Covenant of Grace with the almighty God. In addition, the cross is our hope for everlasting life with Jesus Christ as we can read from the Bible verses about hope.

The Finished Work of the Holy Cross

The finished work of the cross is what Moses meant when he ordered the people of Israel in the desert to keep their eyes on the wooden snake to be saved from deadly snake bites. Those who obeyed and looked at the wooden snake did not die but those who disobeyed died.

There is no other path to salvation apart from the message of the cross. This message has the power to save men and women who humbly submit to the will of God. Talking of the message of the cross is talking of Jesus Christ. He is one with his message just as he is one with his father.

The Power of the Holy Cross

The power of God to restore man from a sinful nature lays within the message of crucifixion which can as well be perceived as the power of the cross that brings salvation to mankind. For it was out of an immeasurable and unconditional love that God sent His only beloved Son to come and take our place on the cross as we can read from the Bible verses about God’s love. This is a genuine reflection of God’s love for us. He does not want us to perish but to have everlasting life with him through Jesus Christ. This is the true meaning of the cross.

It was our sins that separated us from God. While we were still in a sinful nature and far from Him, He did not abandon us. The power of the cross scripture says that He allowed His own dear Son in the hands of evil men who did not spare His life but suffered and nailed Him on the cross as a ransom for our sins.

Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins on the cross of Calvary. This saying applies for those who acknowledge their sins and welcome His sacrifice. It is only in this way that they can be entitled to an everlasting life with God Almighty in Heaven.

Are we supposed to continue living in sin because Jesus Christ paid the ransom for our sins on the cross? The answer is a big No. The Bible verses about a blameless call on us to run away from sin as if it was a deadly poison.

Victory through the Cross of Jesus Christ

While on the cross, Jesus Christ conquered sin, evil forces, principalities of darkness and all forms of death as we can read from the Bible verses about death. His death and resurrection after three days brought complete victory over Satan. And for sure, victory in Christ is victory indeed.

The message and power of the Holy Cross provides us with hope. According to the message of the cross sermon, being children of God through Christ means that we are entitled to victory over all powers and principalities of darkness.
