We are found in a time where death and disease have gone unbridled—a time when the World Health Organization has designated the COVID-19 epidemic a global pandemic. There are notions and innuendos of food insecurity, the brink of economic collapse, and a global cessation. Our once heightened sense of security in our comprehensive and human infrastructure seems to have diminished and eroded.
The Enemy at Work
Social distancing and isolation have become the new norm. God is a social Father who seeks to build that personal and intimate relationship He once had with us in the garden until we sinned, which resulted in our separation from his grace. We are designed by GOD’s design to be social, but now we are found introverted from one another.
Churches all over the world are closed. The fallen one has attempted to take away the bride of Christ. “That He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:27
The doors of holy institutions once where a pathway for spiritual refuge and worship are closed. The sanctuary of communion no longer exists only virtually, not in physical form. Yet GOD has raised ministries within the home of millions. We have invited Him back into the altars of our hearts – the GOD that we have rejected from our schools, public institutions, and even from our lives due to impious societal overtones.
Once densely populated cities are found absent of its citizens and lovers. There only remains groups of people scattered into pockets of prayer circles crying as they strive seeking mercy, redemption, and absolution.
The Church within your soul must rise and reclaim the power and authority that GOD has given it. The enemy has made significant progress in its absence. Fear is the archenemy of faith.
We, as Christians, must come to terms that our strength lies within our faith and prayers. We must believe immeasurably that through adversity, there is growth. “GOD is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3
As hard and challenging it will be, you must find an opportunity to grow even in a crisis. This is an opportunity to rekindle and reconcile – to build that relationship He has been yearning to have with you. It is time to grow in Him through these troubling times.
Fortifying Your Spirit in Unity
It is through radical prayers that bring radical results. Fervent cries must accompany your petitions. Everything in life works better when we are proactive and not reactive. During this pestilence, I have witnessed the power of prayer. “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17
I have seen people at the hour of death revived and extubated where they once laid comatose where doctors lost hope and families have bonded together in hours of prayer. Many have heard there is strength in unity. It is easy to break a branch of a tree; hard to break a bundle of limbs – impossible to break several bundles all at once.
To be optimal in our prayers, we must submit our petitions together and in concert. GOD intended us to be one body of believers since the outset of time. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20
The New Age
COVID-19 has manufactured a new form of normalcy and uncertainty for our future. GOD has promised that this will pass, and this is not the end. This is a new age of global uncoupling. However, we must prepare for what this earthly future will hold. Hold dear to the tree of faith, or you will wilt away! We are capable of surviving the pestilence of this new age in partnership with Our Lord.
