God created man and woman in His own image and likeness, someone like Himself to be the master of all life upon the earth and in the skies and in the seas (Genesis 1:26 TLB). We were made a little lower than Him and crowned with glory and honour. We have charge of everything He made, putting all things under our authority: The flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents (Psalms 8:5-8 NLT).
This is your identity in Christ.
However, darkness rests upon the earth and in the hearts of men (believers and unbelievers), they can be guided by the darkness rather than guided by the Holy Spirit. This influences decisions that are made. For example, to preserve life, protect life or to take it away.
The decision to take a life of the unborn can be influenced by what we believe, who we listen to, our families, the environment and the circumstances that the conception took place (whether married or unmarried), young, career driven, guilt.
Our Father sees each and every one of our lives as precious, and by faith I pray that we can pursue being like Christ; thinking like Him and knowing that He loves us and forgives all our sins and wrongdoing.
The Lord told Jeremiah, “I knew you before I formed you in the mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations,” (Jeremiah 1:5). God’s perfect knowledge of you and me is recorded in Psalm 139:13-18, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!”
The mother who has to make the decision to silence the voice and life of the unborn must be difficult; a decision filled with fear, guilt, regret, rejection and shame. If that is you today, I would like to encourage you that Jesus loves you, He forgives you. Let Him take this burden from you. Pray in faith for help and He will answer. The time and precision that God has put into create a masterpiece as you, me and the unborn is priceless. This shows how much He loves us. I hope and pray that this same love that He has for us can be given to the unborn child so that you can preserve the sanctity of life, the greatness and the uniqueness of the unborn’s destiny.
Know this, life is precious to our Father, you are precious to our Father and Jesus loves you more than you could ever think or believe. Believe, be inspired, be transformed and be like Christ.
