Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.”
In this day and age, and as daunting as this world can be, we have to have hope in things unseen. It’s in the midst of what seems to be chaos in our lives that we know we must put our trust in Him.
Nothing gives us strength and confidence like an understanding of the Sovereignty of God. When our minds are set on the flesh, it can be a real challenge letting go. It’s hard to have a positive outlook on what’s happening in this world, and when we consider the challenges yet to come.
I must often remind myself that there are many who are going their own way in the world. We cannot save those who choose to walk away from the light. There’s only one Savior and His name is Jesus. There are many more of us watchfully waiting, anticipating His return.
A Faith Habit
Faith has become a habit for me. It’s been through the renewal of my own mind, through the reading of the Holy Scripture, that my thinking has changed, ultimately, changing my life.
I’ve learned that the habits being formed (early in my adulthood) did not define who I was or who I wanted to be. Through years of repetition, these had become habitual (for me). Learning to break the vicious cycles that had plagued me, did not come easy. I had to make up my mind that I wanted this change, allowing Him to change me from within.
You see, the Lord makes a way for us to escape those snakes that try to grab hold of us and attach themselves to us. We do know now what it is we can do differently, in implementing this change. God has a plan for each one of our lives, and I knew that it was time (for me) to let go.
Finding Our Rest In Him
In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind (see Job 12). In knowing this, we have all been given ample opportunity in choosing how we want to live.
Our choices do lead us down a path less desired when we’re not allowing the Lord to lead us. The choices today will indeed affect us tomorrow. As we continue to wait out this process of transformation taking place (in our lives), our souls can’t help but cry out, wanting more of Him.
People of all color, races, and creed are desperately seeking this change as more of us come together in this faith. True peace and joy will come when we experience life on God’s terms; so, let us be humble and watchful servants, as we wait.
“Lord, as in a green oasis in the desert of this world, turn on the waterfall of life, giving them what they need to be fed.” Amen.
