You don’t have to struggle and make huge efforts in the presence of God, you can touch God’s heart with just this simple prayer: “Lord, I worship you.”
Eric Gilmour
Founder of Sonship International, Eric Gilmour shares a powerful message about striving in the presence of God. He reminded everyone that we don’t have to strive just to touch God’s heart. When we are in His presence, a simple and short prayer can be enough for us to express our adoration and worship to Him.
The Christian musician and author referenced Madame Guyon’s words to emphasize his message.

“Once you are quiet before God, simply allow yourself time to simply enjoy His presence, to be filled with Him. Hearing is a passive rather than an active thing,” madame Jeanne Guyon wrote. “Rest, rest, rest in God’s love and simply listen to Him and be attentive to Him. These passive actions will permit God to communicate His love to you. And when your spirit is centered upon His person, all activities that He initiates will be so full of peace and so natural and so spontaneous that it will appear to you that there’s hardly anything actually happening.”
Touch God’s Heart
Christianity is not about striving or making efforts just to show how much we love the Lord. He knows our hearts and it is not our efforts nor our struggles that can touch His heart, it is our adoration and worship that can touch His heart.
Eric then remembered a man he met before who touched God’s heart with just a simple prayer.
“Lord, I worship you, I give you glory. There’s no one like you. I worship you,” the man prayed.
And just like that, the presence of the Lord flooded the car that they were in. The next time you spend time in the presence of God, let go of your efforts and just adore who He is, worship His holy name.
“One ounce of adoration is worth tons and tons of efforts and strivings,” Eric said.
