BREAKING NEWS: LIVE FROM UKRAINE
Amid the chaos between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainians remain hopeful—praying, worshiping, and actively helping others to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Hope Amidst War
George Thomas, a CBN News senior international correspondent, shared a video on Twitter that is uplifting to many. He is currently in the Ukrainian war zone and often shares photos and videos on updates about the events unfolding in the country. And in one story, it revealed how Ukrainians remained hopeful despite the turmoil.

“The general tone is one of determination, of courage, of a fighting spirit,” George told Faithwire. Also, he shared how the people are in awe of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in defending their home.

He remarked, “Somebody said to me, ‘He hasn’t even shaved, and look at the way he’s rallying the country, rallying the troops … he’s in the trenches.'”
Ukrainians Worshiping God
Another heartwarming story came from Ukrainian Christians who were holding on to faith, love, and an appeal to the Gospel.

The international correspondent apparently visited a church over the weekend and witnessed a moving moment. He saw them praying and worshiping. On top of that, they are also actively helping others, as the hands and feet of Jesus.
“The pastor of the church, in essence, set the tone for this past Sunday,” George said. “He got up and said, ‘As we worship and come into a time of praise and worship, that all of the songs we sing today, we sing keeping in mind what is going on today in our nation. And as we storm the gates of heaven with our praise … we are in essence storming the gates of heaven for peace as well.'”
The church is helping displaced families. The church staff members set up “pillows and sheets and assembling clothing and toiletries they had purchased for individuals and families in need.” Now, five families are already living inside the church.
