Who Is God And What Is His True Nature?

The truth can only be found in His love letter to us, the Bible!

Who Is God And What Is His True Nature?

The true nature of God can only be found in the Bible.

Many times we’re told not to look back in life, however getting to know my Heavenly Father from the beginning has set me free and I know it will set you free too.

I’d like to take us back to our original creation.

In Genesis 1 – God began creating. But it wasn’t until day six that He created man:

Gen 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness”;

Why didn’t God create man first?

This is our first glimpse of the true nature of God.

God prepared a perfect environment for us first. He could have created mankind and then added things later as we needed, but in His true nature, He met all our needs before we needed them.

He then gave us rulership.

Genesis 1: 28 –  “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Another glimpse of not only the true nature of God but His thoughts towards us.

God thinks highly of us, promoting us to managers from the very beginning. He didn’t put us to the bottom of the chain of life, but to the top.

Next in Genesis 2: 16 we see another facet of our creator. He gave us free will to choose.

He didn’t create us as robots, He didn’t want to rule over us but have relationship with us.

Can you imagine what life would be like, having no choices and having all your decisions made for you?

As a good Father, He gives good advice to His children.

Another glimpse at the true nature of God.

Genesis 2:16 –  “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;  but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

I’m sure we’re all familiar with the fact that Adam didn’t follow these instructions.

I can remember sharing Jesus Christ with an elderly lady and her comments were “but it wasn’t that bad what Adam & Eve did, forgiveness for eating fruit from a tree? That seems a bit harsh!”

It may not seem a big deal, looking at it from our limited perspective but from God’s perspective, He knew the bigger picture.

God knew we’d been deceived by Satan and that now he was going to be ruling over us.

Satan, however, knew exactly what he was doing in the Garden of Eden.

If he could get them to give up their title as sons and daughters of GOD, THE CREATOR OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE and rulers over the whole earth he was onto a good thing, he could rule the earth…he could be like God!

This was Satan’s original downfall; Pride! He was a high ranking angel but was dissatisfied with his title, wanting God’s.

His rebellion got him thrown out of heaven and stripped of his supernatural powers, however, he still comes to keep us away from who we truly are, so beware.

John 10:10 The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy

The true nature of God

1 John 4:8, however, tells us who God is: God is love. He doesn’t just operate in love. Love is the true character of God.

God could have left us in that state, however, He decided to make a plan.

Giving us another glimpse of His true nature

God is not just a righteous creator but a righteous judge. He keeps Himself accountable to the same standards of His Word to us.

Giving us another glimpse of His true nature.

How could God save us?

John 3:16 tells us what God chose to do for us!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

The world here is referring to mankind, us!

God made a covenant with Jesus to be born of a virgin (Mary) by His Holy Spirit.

Jesus couldn’t be born of a man because only a pure Holy man could take back what Satan had stolen and now mankind was no longer sinless.

Jesus then had to live a sinless life, be obedient and in relationship with His Father to His death.

Yes, the Bible tells us…the wages of sin is death.

God keeping Himself accountable to His Word; gave up His Son, who in turn also willingly gave up His life to pay the price we should have paid, in order to free us from the clutches of Satan and take back our authority over all things.

Giving us back eternal life with God in heaven – when we die. Satan’s death plan no longer has a hold on us.

Another glimpse of the true nature of God.

Jesus has taken us back to Adam and Eve’s original identity before sin entered them.

Romans 10:10 “We’ve been made right with God”

1 Peter 2: 24

God put our punishment on His Son and bought us our forgiveness of sin and their penalty, which includes freedom from sickness, poverty, stress, anxiety, depression, division everything that isn’t good in your life. Jesus has set you free from if you choose to believe and accept this free gift

God’s nature didn’t change at the “fall of mankind”

Just as Adam & Eve had, we have still been given freewill.

It was our identity, in the fall of mankind that changed, not God. He’s just as loving, kind, patient, faithful, honorable and righteous to mention a tiny fraction of His true nature.

This is the true nature of God.
