Who, What, and Where God? | God TV

Who, What, and Where God?

We all have these questions time and time again. God uses them to bring us breakthrough and make us great.

Who, What, and Where God?
Who, What, and Where God?

Lord who am I, what is my purpose, and most importantly, where are You? These are the first questions we tend to ask when we are feeling disconnected and withdrawn from the place where we feel like God has called us to be. We feel a lack of drive and are so overwhelmed with the stress to live up to a person or identity that people seem to applaud and easily receive while desperately trying to seek after the identity that God has given us. (See Jeremiah 1:5-8)

Call on Jesus

Your story, being quite different because God awakened you and you rose out of the ashes, and the deepest, darkest places in the world, a place where most never make it out of. Afraid of becoming what you’ve seen all your life, and staying in a synchronized pattern of tradition, you felt the Spirit of the Lord come upon you, making you new, inciting change, releasing favor and authority, and a new found love to win the world to His Kingdom. Weeping at His feet, you continued calling on the name of JESUS deciding to fight and live for Him regardless of past shame. (See Isaiah 61:1-3)

Yes, we are often identified by our environment, who our fathers and mothers are, and the things they did or experienced because heritage and where we come from tells us who we are. But we must realize that identity comes from God and when we discover who we are, purpose will find us. Although, the prophet Amos was identified by man as a shepherd, God called him a prophet. (See Amos 7:14-15)

Often times you try to find your fit, feeling like the Church and its traditions has resisted and refused you, but you must hold on because God loves you and has a sure plan and calling for you. Yes, it makes you still wonder; God are you with me? Who am I? What is my purpose?  You often think back on where you came from, and question if you are qualified. I am pretty sure King David can relate. He was the youngest in the house of Jesse. But he was also the only one in the wilderness. When the Prophet Samuel visited the home, Jesse David’s father presented all of his older brothers who physically or outwardly met the criteria to be King. David on the other hand, was identified as a shepherd boy, but it was he who God called to be the next king. (See 1 Samuel 16:6-13)

I know you often pray for breakthrough, and you constantly seek the Lord for guidance and strength, you are relieved for a moment, but then several minutes later, the questions return…Lord are you with me? Who am I? What is my purpose? You immensely try to be a part and fit into a old system that easily rejects what it does not understand and discounts what it misunderstands. Not because it’s personal, but simply the process of becoming something God calls great! (Isaiah 43:19-21)

God First

Yes, you try to understand, and you tirelessly try to get it right only to find out that your efforts are leading you drastically away from God’s light. You quickly discover that no affirmation from man was needed, only the Father’s love, Jesus calling, and the Holy Spirit confirming is all that was needed to be completed. Yes, this thing called confusion, and lack of identity tried to plant a seed and be misleading. The good news is it was already defeated when you opened your heart to the Lord Jesus and became His and were called a daughter or son of the King! (See 1 Peter 2:9)

Realizing that it was never about people or acceptance, it is always about pleasing God and putting His plan and purpose first. Oh, what a freedom you will feel because it is the sure answer in breaking the identity curse! (Romans 8:14-15)
