If you are asked this question, how will you answer?
According to Ravi Zacharias, an author of numerous Christian books, there are three sequences in the Christian Faith. These are redemption, righteousness and worship. And these are in chronological order and no one can alter that sequence. Meaning a person cannot achieve righteousness without the redemption. So we firmly believe that a person can never be righteous in the eyes of God not unless he / she is cleansed by the Blood of Jesus. Only the pure-hearted soul can stand in God’s Holy Place.
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” (Psalm 24:3-6)
In fact, An astounding article written by an avowed atheist journalist named Matthew Parris entitled “As an atheist, I truly believe Africa needs God” was published and states the importance of the redemptive foundation that we Christians have.
“Now a confirmed atheist, I’ve become convinced of the enormous contribution that Christian evangelism makes in Africa: sharply distinct from the work of secular NGOs, government projects and international aid efforts. These alone will not do. Education and training alone will not do. In Africa, Christianity changes people’s hearts. It brings a spiritual transformation. The rebirth is real. The change is good.” Parris stated in the article.
This is a proof that our faith in Jesus greatly affects our hearts and our attitude towards other people. And that is essential in our daily lives. Watch Ravi Zacharias as he explains the answer in the most profound way.
Why must someone follow Jesus if they just live a good life?
