A little boy receives a royal letter after he created a word puzzle to help entertain Queen Elizabeth during the lockdown.

The 7-year-old Timothy Madders from Billericay, Essex, created a hand-written word puzzle to help entertain the Queen. In May of this year, when London was still on lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, Timothy thought about Queen Elizabeth.

“Dear Queen Elizabeth, you might be feeling sad or lonely during the lockdown, so I thought I could make a word search for you to cheer you up,” he wrote on a letter alongside the puzzle.

With his own handwriting, the little boy hid words such as “happiness,” “love,” and “family” in a word puzzle. It took him about a day to complete the puzzle. Two months after he sent the puzzle to the royal palace, he was delighted to receive a letter of gratitude from one of Her Majesty’s ladies-in-waiting.

“Dear Timothy, The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for your kind letter, and for the puzzle, you have created especially for Her Majesty,” written on the royal letter. “Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. The Queen hopes that you too are keeping safe and well in the current situation.”

Timothy’s mom, Jo Madders, testified to the kind and thoughtful heart of the kid.

“He wanted to do something to cheer her up and he did it in his neatest handwriting,” Jo said in an interview. “He kept saying to me not to send the original to anyone else because that was for the Queen.”

When asked about how he felt when he received the letter from Windsor Castle, Timothy expressed his happiness.

“It made me feel special and happy,” the boy said. “I wanted the Queen to be happy, I was trying to think of what to do to cheer her up.”
