You Are Not Alone!

The Lord looks [down] from heaven; He sees all the sons of man; From His dwelling place He looks closely upon all the inhabitants of the earth—He who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers and understands all that they do.” Ps 33:13-15 (AMP)

One of the Hebrew names for God is El Roi, “The God Who Sees.” And we know that He is a God that sees us. One of God’s characteristics is that He is omnipresent. He is everywhere at all times. You can not go anywhere to escape God’s presence.  He is there.  Whether we acknowledge Him or not, He is there. From the moment you arise in the morning until you go to bed at night, He is always with us. Even when we sleep, the eternal God, who does not sleep, is watching over us.

So He knows what’s happening in our lives.  God sees our victories. He sees our defeats. He sees when we are happy. God sees when we are sad. He sees when we have more than enough. He sees when we are in lack. Nothing that we do is hidden from Him.  Nothing that we face catches Him off guard. God sees us in health. He sees us in sickness. He is the God who sees us. And He sees you right now wherever you are. You are not alone!

God sees our sins – “O God, You know my folly; My wrongs are not hidden from You.” Ps 69:5 (AMP)

Our sin is not hidden from God. For everything we do, there are at least three witnesses, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Everything we do, no matter how well we think we’ve hidden it from others, no matter if it was done in the darkest of nights, He sees it.  There is no such thing as incognito mode with God.

Imagine how we would live our lives if we all walked circumspectly in this regard?  A few years back I was in a local video store looking for a movie to rent. There was a video about pirates on the shelf I picked up to see if it was worth watching. To my horror, I realized it was an adult movie that was not in its proper place! I thought to myself how embarrassing that would have been if someone from my church had walked up while I had that video in my hand. I couldn’t get rid of it quick enough!

That was an honest mistake, but it illustrates how we are often concerned with what other people think about us. And to some extent, I think rightfully so. But what about God? Because God is not visible to us, it is sometimes easy to forget He is omnipresent. But just because you can’t see Him doesn’t change the fact that He’s there all the same.

God Sees Our Troubles

No matter what you may be going through, God sees you. Everyone around you may fail you. Your family may not love you. They may not have provided for you. Maybe they were not there when you needed them the most? At times, you may feel abandoned and alone because they don’t call you as frequently as they should? Perhaps they have treated you poorly and cheated you?

If that’s the case, I have good news for you. God sees your troubles! He knows what you are going through. He knows if people have abused you. God knows if you have been cheated and treated poorly. If you are neglected and are struggling to make ends meet, He knows. In fact, the Bible goes so far as to say God is actively involved in seeking us out in times of trouble. “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may support those whose heart is completely His.” II Chronicles 16:9 (AMP)

God Sees Our Victories

What an amazing Truth! And what an amazing promise! God seeks us out in our troubles to bring us into victory!  Also, God is for you, not against you!  So no matter where you are today and what your circumstances are, be encouraged! God, Himself wants to see you succeed. In conclusion, but simply put, God loves you and has a plan for your life. No matter what you’ve already been through or may be going through right now,  you are not and have never been completely alone.

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and I will [free you and] gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’ Jeremiah 29:11-14 (AMP)
